The band Proloud sounds (mainly from the voice) like Rush in some songs.

Checking it out on Youtube now. Good stuff! I agree though that while there certainly is a Rush influence, it isn't as overt as in the examples I gave.

On the band From.UZ latest album, The Seventh Story, the have a song called Parallels, which borrows the opening riff from YYZ.  Check it out here.  http://10trecords.com/artists/genres/progressive-experimental/fromuz/discography/

And this I like as well.
From Uzbekistan? Wow! Easily the best Uzbek band I've heard! Wink

I knew I forgot someone! Clap

That reminds me that, along with Tiles, a band called Paradigm Blue used to be very popular on a Rush forum I used to visit. Can't really remember what they sound like though.

Tiles have been compared to Rush.  Probably, Presents of Mind is best to check out.  Terry Brown is their producer.

...at least some of the time. I've found a few so far. I mean not just somewhat similar, like, say, Dream Theater, but so similar that it's obviously intentional and you can't help but think "Rush". (Yes, I know, DT is arguable Wink)

- Sieges Even: on "Steps" and "A Sense of Change", the sound is amazingly similar to Hemispheres / Permanent Waves era Rush, albeit much more complex. A bit like Rush playing King Crimson, perhaps. A very interesting twist on the classic Rush sound, though I think I'd prefer if they were instrumental (especially Steps). I also like how they occasionally mix in stuff that sounds nothing like Rush. http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=696

- Zombi: almost the reverse image of Sieges Even - also at times really similar to Rush, but much more repetitive and simplistic. Instrumental, too. http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2753 - check out "Legacy"

- Maximum Indifference: very interesting instrumental band that isn't on the Archives yet. Sometimes sounds very similar to Rush, sometimes totally not like Rush. http://www.maximumindifference.com/evidence/

Anything else?
