Not sure if you got my previous - I'm a forum newbie.  Its Lympne - near Hythe - in Kent.  South Bank Bloke is appropriate as South Bank Poly is at one end of the Old Kent Road.  I heard we were both alumni.

This week jazz with an emphais on  funk and groove. A brief marker that legendary bluesman Robert Johnson was born 100 years last week. And a continuation of a lttle personal campaign to remind that Jens Johansson is a fine and pretty innovative musican - especially when not buried in that distinctly unprogressive heavy prog band Stratovarius. Also a thought: should/could Paul Weller, cover one or two Family tunes? As ever expect anything!!!

Still sifting through a huge heaps of new releases (and old releases I've not heard before) and finding some interesting music.  Kim Sahn has provided a white label of +1's forthcoming ep 'Teenage Battle Hymns' and it is good - where does he and Sue find the time? More from the featured album of the month Jeneen Terran's 'See The Light'. The Blue Floyd's import has appeared this side of the Atlantic at last. Jazz fusion from Poland, Hungary, Germany and of course the US. At last got Emitt Rhodes first album - an album that had the UK critics make strong comparisons with Paul McCartney and Todd Rundgren's early solo albums. And disintered an obscurity from Von Zamla circa 1983.

Jazzpospolita's (not Jazzpospolitica) debut got a massive press in Poland last year, they were called "best year's new jazz band" or something similar. One more good example of Polish nu jazz (which is possibly second by activity after Nordic one during last some years).
