fair assessment but to me they sound like a mess which can be a good at times but I also feel that they come across as pretentious and foolish

^ Jesus, what prog band doesn't?
Anyway, back to the topic, and don't even dare to try to turn it into an anti-Crimsonian argument (as you usually tend to do). I'm still with Kaye.

I like Tony's subtleties but I love Moraz on this list anti-crimsonian. I think you have probably invented a word

^And what a negative word it is
On-topic: Listen to Relayer and you've got my pick. To be honest I liked Moraz better than Wakeman based on his performance on that single album. So much more of a complimentary player who could still do some tight soloing.

Haha didn't mean to point a finger of blame at anyone. Just cringed at the meaning behind it

Moraz was a keyboard god in Relayer but although I'm not very familiar with the rest of his work (I only have his solo album from 1978 and once listened to 'The Story Of I' long time ago from a friend) he seems to have lacked consistency, when surrounded by the other Yes geniuses his talent burst out, but without that inspiration from other talents around him he seemed unable to replicate it by himself alone. Had he stayed for longer they might have produced other masterpieces but we will never know.
Kaye was good and did an excellent job in the Yes Album but never struck me as a real virtuoso.
Downes a bit of the same, a very good keyboardist but lacking brilliance.
Koroshev was technically outstanding but so lacking in charisma, saw the Ladder tour and he looked so cold and clinical, nothing for this band.
Which leaves Rick as the real deal, he should have never left and it's a pity that he did not want to participate in the latest incarnation.
