I was trying to seek out the Post Rock/Math Rock album, but the one posted must be big right now, cause I expected like Sigur Ros or Godspeed or something. Not even familiar with it though. Moving Pictures then. Classic album.

Or it has only 1 review (giving 5 stars) and 12 ratings-only and kind of just snuck in there, perhaps a bit unfairly..

Still Life. Although it's far from my favourite, it wins out of this list due to others getting mixed ratings. Misplaced Childhood a close second (if it was Clutching At Straws, I'd vote for it)

I love most of these albums, but given the fact that Clivage's masterpiece Mixtus Orbis hasn't received any votes, that's surely where I'm putting mineSax man

This is not your typical Indo raga rock though - not much is actually, a lot of folks just take it for granted that the entire sub sounds like Ravi Shankar on acidCry
Anyway, here's the opening cut - you decide for yourselves:

Not even the missing Wish You Were Here? I wish it was here but I couldn't add it after posting the poll.

I like the even spread of votes so far - the leading album has less than 15% of the votes at the moment.

I find it a little perplexing to see Ash Ra Tempel's debut as the top Krautrock album. Yeti or Tago Mago I could understand, but maybe they only work for people into this stuff, whereas ART is more accessible? Erm.... that doesn't make sense either, but I am pretty hung-overOuch

Thick as a Brick
Close to the Edge
In the Court of the Crimson King
Crime of the Century
Lateralus

In a few months or so, when maybe half of these albums would be different, we can do this poll again and include it.

I see for example that Robert Wyatt's album has already dropped to second place in Canterbury.

Ash Ra Tempel isn't nearly my favourite krautrock album, but that doesn't make it any less good.

I agree on both accounts. Think I gave it 4,5 stars - but that's just numbers. Great album even if I prefer their sophomore release Join Inn, which follows the same 'structure' as the debut. One crazy rocker and a sombre and beautiful electronic piece.

BTW after you and others round this place have been singing Faust So Far's praises , including one of my fave reviewers Neu!mann, I decided to spin it again - and damn it if you guys weren't right. It's fast becoming a serious addiction. Thanks man.
