Your car is a little f**ker for doing that to your CDs. What a pain you have to go through. Probably too expensive to fix as well. I guess this will give driving and music listening some tainted enjoyability. Lol. Also. For me Aqualung is by far TULL's best album for me. I don't think you should hurt yourself any further with that. ;)
Not to worry, my friend, within the next couple of weeks, with the settlement I'll be buying a newer car. Can't wait! But to be honest, the first thing I do with any new CD's these days is burn them and only play the copy, I like to preserve the originals!
[QUOTE=The.Crimson.King] Hey Aussie,
I've read your previous posts about not clicking with Tull, so let me jump in and say I think you're looking in the right place. Passion Play is the perfect Tull album for someone who doesn't really like Tull It's unique in their discography for many of the reasons you mention...it doesn't really sound much like any other Tull album and I share your thoughts in comparison to VDGG. It's the darkest Tull album both musically and lyrically and I find it timeless.
If you find you like it, I'd steer you towards disk 1 of "Nightcap" as your next Tull listening project. It's the original recordings of what was supposed to be Passion Play...originally planned as a double album, but the band had trouble with the studio (they were recording in France as tax exiles) and abandoned the recordings and started over. Some of the themes are reused in the official release and some of the other parts are just plain twisted and great fun!
Thank you Mr King! Yes, I'm determined not to just give up on trying to like the band (They have such a status and popularity in progressive rock circles for a reason if so many others like them), so I'll stick with it! Thanks for the recomendation too!
Sound advice. I love the whole prog, buddy system we have going on here. Proggers helping proggers. Love it. :)

Mike should probably pick up Under Wraps, if we're nominating Tull albums that really don't sound like Tull

I'm afraid I haven't contributed to this thread in a long time. It's always a fascinating read for me, to see what everybody is listening to at the moment. Personally I've not listened to as much music as usual lately, but it's always nice to throw a few curveballs in here. So......... over the last couple of days I've spun the following:-
Robert Rich/Ian Boddy - React Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest Radio Massacre International - Solid States Sasha - Global Underground San Francisco Biosphere - Substrata
If you like your electronic music (be it PA prog electronic or non-PA electronic music) you could do a lot worse than these.
