Meh. The first half of Yeezus is good, but the second is terrible. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is a great album though.

Still no mention of MF DOOM? I've only heard Madvillainy but I like it and this guy is very interesting. I absolutely love the production of the album too (by Madlib).

EDIT: also, this track may be interesting to prog lovers:

Here's a song from an album I've been enjoying lately. It's not completely hip-hop (more R&B), but this song is pretty hip-hop-ish.

If you like Madlib, check out his album with J Dilla called "Jaylib", or pretty much anything else he produces.

How about British award winning sax player/MC Soweto Kinch?

I am mostly into the stuff that got produced in the 90s. Snoop, Dre, LL Cool J, Biggie, Nas, Mobb Deep, Cypress and all those cats. Then it's mostly Danish hip hop, which I won't bother you with.
I love Wu Tang from the era though, and especially the sideprojects were extremely good:

ODB:

Raekwon:

GZA:

Gravediggaz:

Cappadonna:

I love the early Busta stuff as well. First two albums are sweet!

I'm interested in this subject, even if it is just because I think drek like this is should be banned to asylums. So I'm going to post about it, welcome or not. It's awful. Horrible. Just can't stand it. I'm with Tom Ozric on this one. It's like a whack on the head.

And as this is a public post, I don't see why anyone (Tom) should be blasted for expressing his opinion, even if it doesn't suit the OP. Especially as it's my opinion as well Big smile

I'm gonna take a wild stab in the dark and say the omnipresent bassoons.

I'm glad that you have the bravery to bash hip hop on a prog site.

Dismissing the entire genre of hip-hop is the same as dismissing one band, Nickelback. Flawless logic.
