Oh of course. But like you said there are other more complex and adventurous albums in the scene but nevertheless this is still a good album. I gave up on it a few years ago but played it again a few months ago and really loved it.
Love that 10 minutes song!

Edit: Just finished a new album from a new band called Necromonkey so I'm playing Panna Fredda right now Big smile

Ah no, swedish. I was just listening to them for evaluation for the team and was pretty much impressed. It's a modern electronic album but has so many genres crossing inside, symphonic, jazz, rock, post rock, plus including all kinds of acoustic instruments. I usually don't go for albums like this, if it wasn't for evaluation sake I would never find out about them, but boy am I happy I did. Beautiful stuff.

Just gave the PFM debut a listen at work, I forget how good it is! I've kind of dismissed this in the past, because the next couple of albums from them are even better, but wow, this track really has so many cool ideas:

What are you kidding me? I never thought of it as inferior in any way to the next ones really. I think it's fantastic and the track you posted shows that perfectly. The closing track has one of my favorite PFM riffs ever (the one with the horns part) Love that album to bits.

No, I don't so much think it's inferior! It just shows them starting to form their progressive ideas, while stll retaining 60's elements - just like taht horn section passage you meant!

Yes, a very damn good album!

Sagi, up until their more recent `A.D. 2010 - La Buona Novella', which I really liked but haven't listened to in years, the last I heard was...I forget the name, the one with the colourful illustration of the band on the front, the one after `Jetlag'! It didn't impress me too much, but perhaps you can recommend where to head next?

Passpartu you mean, nice but hardly an essential PFM album. But I can't recommend anything since I don't know any, I thought maybe you have expolred their 80's stuff. But regarding their more recent albums I hope you know Stati Di Immaginazione, I think it's up there with their very best 70's albums, really an outstanding album.

I haven't heard any of their 80's stuff, so I'm hoping perhaps some of the regulars in here might be able to suggest the better ones to seek out?

Definitely haven't heard that one you've listed, so I've written it down to look into! Your word is more than enough of a recommendation!

Yeah, I felt a bit lonely looking at the other pasta reviewers, but that's how it goes Smile. Doesn't mean I don't think there are great things to be found there, but on the whole pretty underwhelming to these ears.

Linus, I love that Jacula debut, but I don't actually listen to it very often. You'd have to be in a pretty unhappy place to do that. When I do, I really immerse myself in it, and it's exhausting and overwhelming to me! Very hypnotic.

It's strange, I'm very fascinated by the darker Italian bands and albums, I think it might have something to do with having very strict Catholic parents growing up! Perhaps this is some mid-life rebellion!
