Wait, you have a turntable at work? I'll listen to that one too, I haven't listen to them in quite some time. Yeah, that PFM album is very good and as you describe, although it would be better if it was a double album I've been discovering Yes' latter albums quite slowly, I only listen when I'm in an "acceptance" mood I read some favourable reviews of that next album, I'll see if that's true |

Funny you mention that, Sam, because I just discovered something for the first time tonight: http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=2063 This live album is `Cook', which turns out is a double LP version of that `Live in the USA' one. Even better yet, apparently a recent CD reissue is now a 3 CD set!! Might have to go investigating that one! |

The Phantom of the Paradise soundtrack. The concert sequence thrills me still.

Yesterday:
Caribou - Our Love (WTF!?!?!?!! Caribou goes House? Deep House no less whatever that means. I can certainly hear the house influence though, but there is also dubstep, IDM, pop and Balearic beats in there. I'm not sure what I make of the vocals though, perhaps a tad too mainstream US pop/soul sounding for my tastes. The music though is very interesting.) Flying Lotus - You're Dead (Great modern jazz album played through electronics and real instruments. Definitely need some more spins, but I really dig what I'm hearing. NOT for electronic newbies methinks - or maybe, but they're going to need snaps or dill or something.) Camera - Remember I Was Once Carbon Dioxide ( Gotta love that title. The music is this delicious modern take on the moremotorik laden Krautrock groups. I definitely hear some traces of Can, NEU! and especially the "continuation" of NEU!, LA Düsseldorf seems to have influenced these guys.) The Inner Space - Kamasutra (Proto Can release, though with he exact same members, made for the movie Kamasutra. This is basically Can before they found their groove, although there's plenty of that on this offering, only much different sounding - often reminding me of Popol Vuh. Hell there's even one tune where I think they sound a little like Amon Düül ll, and that is something - especially considering the two never really sound alike.)

Supertramp - Crisis? What Crisis?
C B Busser - Warship Suite Franco Leprino - Integrati...Disintegrati (The album you recommended that I like the most until now David. Such lovely music and very original, it's a shame that he only released one album) Pat Cool - Daybreak Focus - Focus Con Proby (Amazing guitar work and some great collaborative playing between the bass guitar and the drums. And then there are the songs where Proby sings. At least the instrumental ones compensate for those, so overall it's a quite good album) Hiromi Uehara - Brain Santana & McLaughlin - Love Devotion Surrender Tangerine Dream - Le Parc (Nice album, I think it's better than 'Thief' or 'Wavelength'. I also liked the participation of Clare Torry, which I immediatley recognized, although they didn't gave her as much importance as PF did) Edited by Meltdowner - October 27 2014 at 17:50 |

Sagi, I wonder if you know this album?
VIRUS - REVELATION http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=12601 I cannot believe this German album is so unknown and unappreciated!! From 1970, it's like a red-hot mix of Pink Floyd at their spaciest mixed with Atomic Rooster, with a ton of flute and scorching Hammond organ, and it's dripping in sexy distortion! I picked this up a few months ago and I haven't stopped playing it! Edited by Aussie-Byrd-Brother - October 28 2014 at 18:13 |

^^ Michael and Sam. I really admire how you both give each other such wonderful feedback to help one another explore the very deep, vast world that is Prog. Nicely done.
As for myself, not a lot of time to spend on 'quality me time' because of my crazy work hrs. Sheeesh. 53hrs a week. :( I have time to listen to one album a night, so I try and make it count. Today. Threshold--Instinct Extinct I will go to sleep happy tonight. :) |

All good, Nick! I haven't failed to noticed you've been giving Threshold a good workout lately!
It's weird, for some reason, I constantly get Threshold and Enchant confused! Will have to explore THRESHOLD more soon....Strange, I've got almost a complete set of Enchant's albums, and I really don't dig them much at all! Edited by Aussie-Byrd-Brother - October 28 2014 at 19:49 |
