Nice choices (I don't know 4 from the list but anyway)
is the new Arena out?

That was actually about two days worth, so I was cheating!

Yes, the new Arena is sort of out! I ordered the CD directly from the band, it was released on the 23rd of March and arrived four days later, pretty fair effort considering I live in Australia! I think it mentioned on their page that the general release is in about three weeks from now, but you could get in early by ordering it straight from the band. It's a great album! It's still very much in the hard-rock vein as their previous disc, but there's a lot more symphonic elements added back in, and the singer shows a lot more variety this time around. I think most Arena fans will love it

Hmm, some interesting choices there, Sagi!

How did you find the Barracuda Triangle?! I really dig it, some cool stuff on that one! If you have the CD, check out Bodin's keyboard list that takes up almost an entire page of one of the pages of the digi-pack!

Morte Macabre - a damn Mellotron classic!

I really love that Pendragon `Believe' album. How great is Mr Barrett's acousatic playing on that one?! Man, some clunky lyrics here and there, though, I think he gets a little too ambitious from time to time! If you eventualy get their latest one, I'd love to know your thoughts on it.

Alphataurus – s/t - finally got a nice new CD of this to replace my scrappy vinyl copy, such an amazing Italian album, so many different sounds and ideas. When I first started getting into the Italian prog albums, Museo Rosenbach’s `Zarathustra’ and this one were my first loves! You never forget your first time and all, in this case I was double teaming right from that start! Do you know this one, Sam?
Waiting for your opinion on that one... Tongue

LOL I heard it once last year on Youtube, the cover looked really cool and the music was even better Big smile The first RPI album I listened was Per Un Amico, since I was discovering the Top Albums list. I was studying through the night and this fantastic album really helped me Smile

No, I only have the seven original tracks on my 10.000 Anos... CD. No bonus track, sadly.

Yeah, my colleague told me JC was popular in Portugal, and that he had done a lot of stuff, even participated in the Eurovision Song Contest. Shocked

I haven't heard anything from Solaris but their first album myself. Really should check out their other albums, especially MK II, which is getting some good reviews.

Hope you enjoy Escenes, when you get a chance to listen to it. As I said, it's a favourite of mine.
Since you do band marathons, something I never felt like doing, I thought you memorized Tongue

Mine doesn't have it either but thankfully I can listen to it on Youtube.

Yes, with a disco pop track in 1980 when the contest wasn't the freak show it is now. He didn't win but got in second place, the best Portuguese performance on the contest.

I don't feel like returning to Solaris' second album Disapprove I should listen to the next two though.

I'll let you know when I do Wink

Last three days:
Hermeto Pascoal - Zabumbê-bum-á
Equations - Hightower
Horizont - s/t (Great obscure Swedish symphonic album with fusion influences Thumbs Up)
Locanda Delle Fate - Forse Le Lucciole Non Si Amano Più
Steven Wilson - Hand. Cannot. Erase (Another glorious 5.1 mix Clap)
Miles Davis - Porgy and Bess

Capitolo 6 - Frutti per Kagua
DJ Shadow - Endtroducing
Nichelodeon - Ukiyoe
Witthüser & Westrupp - Der Jesuspilz (oh yes, the Jesus mushroom!)
Kevin Ayers - Whatevershebringswesing
Ochre - Natural Ignition
Pharoah Sanders - Elevation

How could you remember this whole list? LOL Lots of nice stuff you listened. Good to have you back on the thread Smile

Missed this one, Sam. Saw it just now, trying to find out when I listened to those albums last.

The José Cid one I like a lot. It reminds me of DSotM some, something about the vocals, but it's better than Dark Side, IMO. LOL Btw, I have a Portuguese colleague, who's a drummer and a Genesis fan. When I told him I'd got that Cid album and asked if he'd heard about him, he told me he actually knew the guy. Shocked Small world, ha? LOL

Those other two, the Solaris one I think I've seen you listened to since that post, right? The Gotic one is one of my favourite albums. Slightly jazzy instrumental album with some lovely keyboards and Camel-like flute. Highly recommended!
I don't even remember when I wrote that, you must have gone way back Tongue

I never associated that album with DSOTM, but it's way more spacey than DSOTM Wink Does your copy has the amazing EP 'Vida (Sons do Quotidiano)' as a bonus track? I've been liking it so much since I saw his Prog concert last year, it was the opening track, so good Cry
Portuguese representation in Norway? Cool! Tongue It doesn't surprise me much, he was and is so popular around here (not for his Prog work unfortunately) that he knows and has worked with so many people here. I don't personally know him but I know many musicians who played with him.

Yeah, I listened to some of their albums, but their first one is the only one that I really liked. I still didn't listen to the new one though.
I completely forgot about Gotic, I noted the name so I won't forget about it again Tongue

Anyway, today's choices:

Astrid Pröll - s/t (my first listen to this Puerto Rican band, nice stuff, reminded me a bit of DT, which was my next listen, as you can see Wink)
Devin Townsend - Terria
tr-Ond and the Suburban Savages - s/t (my first listen to this also, a Panzerpappa/The Samuel Jackson 5 offshoot band with one album to their name, not unlike Panzerpappa sounding, a bit more straight forward perhaps, but I enjoyed it)
