Don't believe in odds, Denver has been back in the odds all year, nobody would put their money against the Pats (I risked US$ 150 on the Broncos and won nearly 250), but they manage to win the game. Panthers defense is not great, AZ could had scored at least 14 more points (And the Petersen interception costed 14 points). They were terrible. This won't happen with Denver.....I hope Edited by Ivan_Melgar_M - January 25 2016 at 09:57 |

Really happy Panthers did what they did! So many Cam haters it's unreal, already today in the office first thing was all the Seahawks fanatics saying......"at least we won the second half and made it close..." I was like are you kidding this is not horse shoes....I believe team with the most points wins, everyone else is a loser! LOL
Panthers made RWilson look like a rookie QB...btw who makes $20million...regardless. Cam is a freak athlete, always has been and now is turning into a much feared NFL QB....the guy is INSANE!!! Panthers - 31 Broncos - 17 (even though I am a huge Manning fan.....Cam is a freak!!)

Lets be honest, Arizona ruined themselves - Peterson lost 14 points stupidly when Panthers were losing fuel, he gave that ball in the 30 line of the Panthers and was a Panthers touchdown .That could mean 30 - 24 at the end of the game. - Palmer gave that stupid pass from 26 yards, he lost 7 points, carrying the ball, it was an easy touchdown. That could have changed things to 30 - 31 at the end of the game. Things could have changed and still be a win for the Panthers, but lets be honest, they run out of fuel in second half. ^ Shoulda, coulda, woulda Ivan.....Players still need to perform, it's issues like Peterson in big games that cause a team to lose, he did not perform better than the Panthers.
In the SEA-CAR game, all the Seahawks had to do was make one TD in the first half of the game and end of that game would have been much different, rather than needing a TD and a 2-pt conversion, they would have only needed a FG to win the game. But they failed to put themselves in a winning position in the first half. Like the SEA-MIN game, Seattle did not win that game....They were given that game by the MIN kicker...but that is the beauty of sports, anything can happen and sometimes luck will win you games.

I'd like to see how Denver's D can contain Cam, but I just don't see the Panthers being slowed down. I almost feel like this will be Super Bowl 48 all over again, but hopefully I'm wrong.

Carolina starts out quick and puts points on the board. #1 in first half points.

Probably Denver cares. It certainly has Denver quarterback Peyton Manning's attention. ''As you watch the game unfold, you see the scoreboard and it's just 7-0, it's 14-0,'' Manning said. ''It's like the guy singing the National Anthem is still on the field, you know, the game hasn't started yet. Edited by timothy leary - January 29 2016 at 10:26 |

I would say that matters because Denver's not really in the position to play catch up from far behind. |

Denver must score first and keep Carolina from doing what they've done the past few weeks - score early and often, then coast. Cam is a freak athlete, but if Denver keeps up the pressure and somehow contain him, then there's a chance. Otherwise, it could get ugly early. Denver has to score or set up a score at least once on defense as their offense won't put up more than 21. I'll call the upset:
Denver 24 Carolina 21 |

I think the biggest match up to watch is Carolina's d-line vs Denver's o-line. Carolina's secondary is easily the weakest part of their defense and if given time to throw Manning can still move the chains (albeit not for as many yards as he used to). That's a big if, obviously, but if he can get the time the game should remain close for the majority of the contest. That said, it's Carolinas to lose.

^ Agree.....if Carolina hiccups on offense with fumbles or int, then Denver has a clear chance to steal this one.

Pretty neutral. Pulling for Denver because I love that defense, and it'd be nice to see Peyton go out on top bt honestly I care less than I used to.
If they do win I believe I read somewhere he'd be the SB winning QB with the worst season ever Basically has been dragged along, and should be thankful Osweiler was totally inexperienced, with a little better performance (hey kid was being thrown into the deep end) Peyton may never have seen the field again. If it's Carolina, well would be cool for them to get their first and I like Cam. He had the potential, but really did develop and he truly has had an MVP like season. Peyton has Thomas, Sanders and an elite defense. Palmer had everything (and blew it still) Cam has Greg Olsen and.....well Im not sure. I thought Carolina's defense would be their undoing. I still think they got secondary problems but the pass rush was enough to take control anyway. That Denver o line hasnt been exactly A game material and Peyton is back there....the only QB who does worse under pressure than Brady. I think this game could be very even and defensive.

^ Very good points as always........I agree that Carolina D could be suspect, but the Denver O line may not be able to hold ground. If I were Carolina D coach, I might push Manning to his off hand side and see what he can do, in other words do not let him sit in the pocket, flush him out, overload the D line to one side.
The Carolina secondary needs a couple turnovers, but I have a sneaky suspicion they will be just fine and cover well. Manning will have to live in the 8-15 yard range, not sure he will pop for anything longer, don't think he will have time to allow that type of play to develop. If they can get a run game going, they have a chance. For now still holding my 31-17 score.

I can't see Denver even making a game of this. Manning got spanked by the Seahawks in the Super Bowl two years ago, and was lackluster in the playoffs against the Colts last year in what should have been a revenge performance. He's older, slower and more banged up now than he was in either of those games and has the highest interception ratio of his career this year. Despite one decent run on a broken play last week he really can't move well in the backfield anymore and Carolina has shown they can contain more mobile QBs than him all year.
Denver has a banged-up secondary and their offense has had a tendency to give up the ball (and Carolina is +8 in turnovers for the season). Carolina 27, Denver 13 sounds about right. |

Tbh, I expect Carolina to win in a landslide victory. They tore apart Arizona, who in my mind was the next best team in the NFL, and I thought could even beat Carolina.
The only thing Denver has going for them is two weeks to prepare, and heal their team up if they can. I think Denver will benefit more from this break more than Carolina, but it won't be enough. |
