^ Hi Sam, those are my two favorite Soft Machine albums because of the guitarists Allan Holdsworth and John Etheridge. I'm curious to know which one you liked best. I tried for some time to find a copy of Visitor 2035 and ended up ordering a used vinyl copy through Discogs.

^ It was the second time I listened to the albums, so I can't pick a favourite The first one is much heavier, pure Fusion madness The second one has a laid back vibe most of the time, and there's a lot of lovely Solina in it Apples and oranges
Did you receive your copy already?

^ Yes, I received it a couple of weeks ago. The cover has shelf wear but the corners are sharp. The vinyl is clean with no skips or hairlines so that's the important thing. It was very difficult to find on vinyl so I'm satisfied with the condition.

^ That's great! About the condition, you also have to consider that it travelled half the world to get to you I was thinking about buying it this month on Discogs but a much more interesting opportunity appeared

^ What opportunity was that? The jacket condition is similar to some of my earlier albums that were not put into plastic sleeves for several years. I didn't even know about plastic outer sleeves when I first started buying albums. I've been buying quite a bit of new vinyl lately (about 125 with about 25 more on order) and they go into a plastic cover as soon as I open them and verify the vinyl color.

^ I mentioned two pages ago I found a Portuguese seller on Discogs with many great records. I bought 13 LP's this week and received the huge package yesterday I'll post it on the vinyl thread later. I only started buying outer sleeves one year ago, mostly because the local store started selling them. I also put the sleeves right after I open them.

^ That was great finding a local seller. I've ordered quite a bit from a couple of US sellers and the shipping is so reasonable that spend a few extra bucks for priority 3 day shipping. I've have several orders from Bandcamp and Discogs that are taking two to three weeks to arrive (a few even longer). I started using plastic covers back in the seventies because my local record store started selling them. I'm in the middle of a long project of replacing the old sleeves with new ones. They've gotten pretty dirty and dingy after forty years.

^ I know a few but each one has many records that others don't. This one has a lot of 70's electronic, which is not common here. There's also a store where I order new LP's and it's generally cheaper than anywhere else. That seems like a lot of work.

^ Replacing the sleeves really is a lot of work because it's so boring and repetitious that I do it a little at a time. I'm about halfway through but that still leaves over a thousand to go.

Nick, I didn't say I didn't like the album. I still have some DT albums from the box set I never listened to, so there's no point in listening to the new one, I think.
| K. I'll shut up now, but just outta curiosity which albums haven't you heard from your set? I only ask cause I'm starting to feel that the astonishing maybe their most challenging listen to date, so maybe those 'other albums' you haven't broke the seal on May be more digestible. ;) Happy listening, all together. ;) Friday morning. Systematic Chaos was the last one I heard and I'll start again the discography after I finish the ones I have. It's a lot of music to listen to.

Oh no, seriously? Against my better instinct, I included `Spirit' with my new Syn-Phonic order that I finalised just two days ago...More of the same that I hated so much about the previous one, I'm assuming? Damn....I know not to ever bother with another with Edison's Children again, my gut instinct always said to not take another chance on C.o.E' as well... Those Soft Machine albums are great....I sadly don't have them myself, but know to snap them up when I come across them.

It's what you hated about the previous album, multiplied by 10. I actually liked the previous album and I could hardly finish this one. I remember seeing a vinyl copy of Bundles two years ago, but I didn't know it back then.

Yes - Astral Traveller Riverside - Love, Fear and the Time Machine The Doors - Strange Days (I've been listening to their albums regularly for the last six years and I still can't pick a favourite. They are all great and very different.) Gentle Giant - Octopus Michael Garrison - Prisms (Really good album. It has a good balance between accessible melodies and dark atmospheres) Camel - s/t (Finally not on Youtube ) Peter Baumann - Trans Harmonic Nights (It's not a bad album Michael, but it's not really good either. It's a messy album: it seems to go in very different ways but doesn't go anywhere. The vocoder vocals are only on three tracks and I didn't find it annoying since it's mostly used on background.)
