Which "Spartacus" do you prefer? Jeff Wayne's vibrant musical? Or Triumvirat's classic?
As the dust settles, see our dreams, all coming true, it depends on you...

I only know Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds, did not even know he did an album on Spartacus.

Triumvirat's Spartacus is great!

I prefer T-rat's, but Wayne's WotW is pretty cool. Phil Lynott's on it!

Jeff Wayne is a one trick magician...War of the Worlds and it's all.

Great album

Triiumvirat has 2 masterpieces and 3 excellent albums

Don't know Wayne's version but Triumvirat's has been a regular spin for me since 1975 Wink

I haven't heard Jeff Wayne, and the reviews tell me not to bother.  Triumvirat's is worth it just for "March to the City"

Triumvirat, no question, though Jeff Wayne's is also quite good.

Just one song? Ouch! I fancy all of T'rat's Spartacus. I really think it was their most solid line-up.

Agree with you, this is how I rate T-Rat

Triumvirat's first three albums are all five star records, and the greatest progressive rock on the planet!
There are also some live boots from their stellar fall '74 tour in the USA with Fleetwood Mac that are fantastic, as well. (sound quality is not that great, but they play their hearts out) They would open their set usually with The Burning Sword Of Capua from Spartacus on that tour, long before they would record it on Spartacus.

Jeff Wayne´s album Spartacus is really poor. Nowhere close his War of the Worlds-album which I thought was great back in the late 70`s and still think is good.

Have never listened that much to Triumvirat but what I have heard is way ahead of Wayne´s Spartacus.
