I had thought about this one for a while and although it is admittedly a bit silly I decided to do it anyway so here it goes.

I really like both bands. I voted for Thieves' Kitchen because they have interesting ways of using the pineapple in the kitchen...they don't just steal it.

I like both bands. Bruce always has great sound and engaging melodies and song textures, but Thieves' Kitchen has always been far more interesting in their unusual explorations and sounds. Plus, they've managed to harbour, at times, three of the former members of Änglagård, which makes their musicianship always stellar.

Different bands that have nothing in common. TK has better music and musicians for me. They get my vote

Like a choice between strangulation and drowning. If either were nicking something that should never appear on a pizza in a God fearing world, they would have some value. Both just sound like sincere flatterers to these ears a la Wobbler, Flower Kings, Black Bonzo, Big Big Train etc. I just wish I could be more enthusiastic about so-called modern Prog (It's probably my loss) Edited by ExittheLemming - May 16 2020 at 20:08 |

With Gavin Harrison now a regular with Pineapple Thief, their sound and production has been elevated many levels. Soord and Steve Kitch in the past were still doing excellent work and those pre Gavin albums are still very good, but since Wilderness the overall production and sound is fantastic!
Really looking forward to the next release....... As far as TK, just have not warmed up to them as much.

The Pineapple Thief easily. Because Bruce Soord is a great alternative/modern/progressive musician/producer. And there is Gavin Harrison in the band, one of the best drummers of nowadays. For me, Thieves' Kitchen are just progressive and good.

I only have Genius Loci by Thieves Kitchen but that's enough for me to vote for them. Pineapple Thief is really good for falling asleep to |

Who said they had to? Anyway, you are wrong. Their names both imply stealing is involved.
