Heavy Horses, followed by the usual suspects. Stormwatch is also a very fine album.

Wow someone picked Heavy Horses at last... It was one of the very first albums that I listened to within the prog sphere. But, TBH I was a huge metalhead then and it was my elder brother's cassette. I remember finding it nice then, anyway. My pick is Aqualung, nonetheless... |

Fave Tull album remix book set. Very tough decision. Tonnes of great extra tracks. TAAB was the best choice of tracks for an album but I’d rate it 5th best studio year.
I’ll go top 10 in order Stormwatch set Aqualung set Passion set Horses set Thick set Songs set Warchild set Benefit set A set Too old set These are 5 star sets and a lot better than the originals Thanks Edited by dr prog - November 01 2021 at 03:19 |

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Benefit, still gets me excited when I spin it. The psychedelic panning of guitar and flute is invigorating and exhibits studio mastery. The Steven Wilson remix is sadly inferior to the Terry Ellis production. ( and I love almost all of Steven Wilson's remixing abilities on all of his work )

I prefer all of the Wilson mixes. Maybe 3 or 4 songs from the 13 sets are not as good as they were originally I thought. Hopefully they found the witches promise tape for the 50th book version. Then the massive Broadsword set next. Very excited to hear the production and the tonnes of new tracks |

I love the biggies, but I find I listen to Benefit more than the others. Can't put my finger on it, but it's just kind of special.

Yet, I think with just two albums you can have just about the very best from this band, and for me mostly in their best versions. Live Bursting Out and Live at Montreux.
