Ok, a suggestion now exists for Nick Fletcher to be added as a solo artist: https://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=132374. There are no links in it to any samples of the three albums that matter, 'cos none seem to exist anywhere on line, so it may not end successfully, but the latest 'Quadrivium' album is available to be shared with the team via pm as a starting point, and at least we've tried!

^ Thanks Julien - we've actually already got that one now - but one album from a guy who has released a dozen or more isn't going to satisfy the teams, even though the vast majority of his discography is non-prog classical guitar stuff. We really need a good collection of samples of all three of the albums which would be regarded as prog, and ideally all the tracks from them.
If it was the kind of music I really like I'd probably just cough up and buy the albums, but this mostly instrumental jazz/fusion related stuff isn't really my cup of tea, and I'm only a old man on a state pension lol! I guess the best thing to do is to just put the suggestion up with a biography, a photo of the artist, and an apology for the lack of samples in the hope that someone, somewhere will be able to provide these for the evaluation teams to listen to. |

I could provide digital files for his 2023 album, "Quadrivium". I have them here. Could it help? It's definitively prog!

I can't suggest Nick Fletcher, which is the really the most important one of the two given the situation we currently have with albums incorrectly assigned. I can't find any samples on line at all of his three recent solo prog/jazz/fusion albums, which are the ones which need moving. Most of his earlier non-prog classical guitar stuff is on Spotify, YouTube, Deezer etc, but not these three. His 2018 'Beyond the Stars' prog collaboration with John Hackett is available but none of his later solo albums. Couldn't even find any complete single tracks from them on YouTube. No samples = no evaluation, so I've had to abandon the suggestion as a dead duck. ![]() ![]() Edit: The albums can be purchased digitally on Nick's website - 10 bucks each for the later two albums, and seven bucks for the earlier album from 2021, but I'm not splashing out all that just to put a suggestion together on here for him.

^ Understood and agreed. If you're leaving all three albums on the site, then you might as well update the other two with the timings etc that I posted above while the information is on the current page of this thread. I'll make it known in my suggestion thread for Nick Fletcher (solo) that the three albums that Mayer added to the John Hackett & Nick Fletcher page are already here, and just need moving to the new Nick Fletcher solo page.

^ David, I think after Nick Fletcher's inclusion we'd better move these albums to his discography (and thus save the existing "Quadrivium" review as well).
I didn't plan to delete albums, I only wanted to show Mayer that it would be helpful to be more careful with additions like these.
I think so too. Edited by NotAProghead - January 08 2024 at 19:37 |

^ I'll do it over the next day or two. I've just spent about 2 hours suggesting one of Nick Fletcher's guest drummers (Anika Nilles) for JR/F, and I need a bit of a break before I start again with John Hackett and Nick Fletcher himself lol!
You can go ahead and ask admins to delete the two albums that have been erroneously added to John Hackett & Nick Fletcher if you want to, since I'll include all the updated details for those albums that I posted above in the suggestion thread to make creating his solo entry on PA easier for the evaluation teams. I think it is pretty much a certainty that both musicians will be accepted here as solo artists. Edit: Nick Fletcher's 'Cycles of Behaviour' album will also need moving to his solo page once he's been accepted and added, since although it does feature contributions by John Hackett, who even co-wrote thee of the songs with Nick, it's really another Nick Fletcher solo album.

^ I think so too. IMO John Hackett's page should also include his works with John Hackett Band and Marco Lo Muscio.
But who's brave enough to start suggesting procedures? ![]() |

It was already mentioned here in 2017 : I think we should ask for both Nick Fletcher and John Hackett artist additions.

Mayer, I think you had to worry BEFORE adding 2 albums without John Hackett to John Hackett - Nick Fletcher discography. What was the reason to add them? ![]() Formally I need to ask admins to delete them. It's the easiest solution. |

It's the only way to do things properly imho. As things are, John Hackett's two solo progressive rock albums 'Checking Out Of London' (2005) and 'Another Life' (2015) aren't on the site at all. As Mayer has pointed out, Nick Fletcher's solo work would probably be evaluated by the JR/F team in the first instance, but John Hackett belongs in Crossover. Three of Nick's solo albums that are currently on PA as John Hackett and Nick Fletcher collaboration albums - two of which don't feature John Hackett at all as far as I can tell - could then be moved to his solo page (John Hackett does play on the 'Cycles Of Behaviour' album, though it doesn't appear to be a collaboration as such, so this album should also really be on Nick's solo page). Here is Eduardo's original suggestion thread from January 2021 based on the album 'Beyond The Stars' (2018), which has led to the situation that currently exists, as more albums have been added to the page: https://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=125282. Edit: John Hackett released another progressive rock album in 2017, but this time as The John Hackett Band, called 'We Are Not Alone', which also belongs on the site. That album also features Nick Fletcher on guitars. This is really quite a complicated situation to unravel lol!
