The Enid : 'live at Hammersmith' is very good. And I never heard a bad Fish-era Marillion live. |

I just realised I only have five live albums in my entire prog collection ...
Genesis - Live Genesis - Seconds Out Genesis - Three Sides Live Pink Floyd - Ummagumma Emerson Lake & Palmer - Pictures At An Exhibition They are all quite amazing ... but I think I've become wary of collecting live albums ... ever since I stared at a college friend's collection of over 400 taped Grateful Dead shows ... and realised that it would be suicidal of me to go down that road ... |

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present." |

I think that you both live too much in the past! ELP have not been a real band for 25 years-they only evolved for 10 years and that is why their music seems so dated. They never sustained the promise of their talent. BTW: recon=reconnaissance reckon= think ! |

FRANK ZAPPA: LIVE IN NEW YORK / TINSEL TOWN REBELION (Two different bands, two stunning performances) YES: YESSHOWS / KEYS TO ASCENSION (A collection of Yes classics) JETHRO TULL: BURSTING OUT (The best JT line-up at their best) KING CRIMSON: THE NIGHTWATCH / ABSENT LOVERS (Wow!) PETER GABRIEL: SECRET WORLD LIVE (An amazing show full of great songs and powerful performances) DREAM THEATER: SCENES FROM NEW YORK (I like this one. My DT's favourites are all here) TRANSATLANTIC: LIVE IN EUROPE (These guys are really amazing!) ROGER WATERS: IN THE FLESH (The best live collection of PF songs in wonderfully versionated and played, despite Roger can't sing anymore. I do miss David here, but anyway I liked it much more than PULSE...) LED ZEPPELIN: HOW THE WEST WAS WON (this is for what rock n' roll was made for!) |

Yessongs. Not the best quality recordings, but listening to them back in their heyday is amazing.
