Pick 5 for this one.
This is a poll about things you would wish each band had done so that they would have a greater reputation or made you happier with the band. I sort of wish that Gentle Giant had a 10 minute or up song, I would sort of like to see what that would be like. The longest thing GG had was Nothing At All at 9 minutes. I also wish Harmonium made a dixieland album, because they sadly only had 3 albums, with Dixie being one of the highlights off of Si on avait besoin d'une cinquième saison. And wish Camel did more suites, because The White Rider was great and Lady Fantasy was a masterpiece. They had Ice, Lawrence, A Nod and A Wink, and For Today, but those were weaker than the two suites(Except Ice which is on par). Theme One was a great instrumental cover by VDGG(Theme 1 was originally by the Beatles producer guy), but I wish VDGG had better instrumental breaks in their songs as most of them sound like avant-garde explosions or are riffs to the songs(I like both of them anyway at times though). My last one is that I wish Jethro Tull had more instrumentals, because it seems like they are perfect for it, look at Bouree! Sadly, that seems to be one of the only instrumentals in their discography(unless you count tracks on Passion Play individually or the Christmas album), and Jethro Tull seems to be into the songwriting part of it mostly.

KC new lineup album, Wyatt's non crippling, vocal less early RTF, long from GG, and 80s betterment.

I could support most of these, but only voted for one: King Crimson - A studio album with the new line-up

Well, I wouldn't want another album like ITCOTCK because that's what ITWOP was. We don't need three albums like that (as good as they are). ;)
So for me it was GG- song over ten minutes, Genesis - another side long suite ( I count supper's ready as that but not Duke), King Crimson - a studio album with the new lineup, prog rock bands doing it better in the 80s and ELP making a comeback after LB and ITHS. All the listed things would have been good. A second PF with Barrett is my choice. I disagree about "Onion". I like that album even if Howe has reused a riff from his solo works and Wakeman doesn't like it. I also have to say that the last YES album is quite bad, but if a band wants to continue and you don't like it, you can just avoid buying it. I don't care too much about Genesis and Harbour Of Tears is not instrumental Excellent point about Harmonium. Dixie is a fantastic track.

![]() Exactly. Whilst I'm not the biggest fan of the last 2 Yes albums, I don't wish they hadn't been made, I can just not listen to them. Also I do like Union even if some don't.

Another album by Chris Squire as good or better as Fish Out of Water. Went with another album by Italian prog bands.

Two things - no more Yes after Squire's death, and (not on the list) Martin Barre should return to Jethro Tull.

Another thing I sort of wish for is a collaboration of all the musicians of prog rock. There was one in the 70s with Colin Scot(I never heard it but according to someone on Sea of Tranquility, its a disappointment)

I guess my main choice here is a recording of original material by the present King Crimson line up. Yes disbanding after Chris Squire’s death would be the other one. How about a recognition from Ian Anderson for Martin Barre real contributions (I mean the music he wrote for Tull but never got credited for)? Or an album of real collaboration between Chris Squire and Steve Hackett?

Other: Gentle Giant not breaking up in 1980 and continuing like most others (even if they were poppish).

I think Bruford guested on one of Steve's Genesis revisited albums but I could be wrong.

Definitely more instrumental tracks from Jethro Tull, but especially since Anderson lost his voice. His vocals IMHO have been unbearable for the last 30 years or so.

Interesting poll. My five from your list are: better 80s albums, studio album from the new KC lineup, another Genesis sidelong suite, second album from one-album Italian bands, and a suite from GG.
A couple more I would add: A regular release of studio albums (like one every two years) from 5uu's between 2002 and their new one out this year. Scott Walker would have released more studio albums from 1984 onward than he had. These groups were still together and releasing albums on a regular basis: Henry Cow, The Science Group, Beardfish, This Heat, Yezda Urfa. These non-Italian one-album bands had a chance to release a second (or more) album: Et Cetera, Quill, Zaragon, Pollen, Weidorje, Afterglow, Khan (I'm sure there are many more I missed)
