Topic: What's up with Madonna...??? Posted: October 26 2009 at 11:50 |
I've known many many musicians and after a couple of beers and talking they always mention that Madonna's music is great... I don't have nothing against pop, honestly... but It really seems a little weird that your'e talking with a metal guitar man and he tell you that kind of things... So I ask you guys... What does the MUSIC of Madonna have that is so special...?? the music I've heard from her is really boring and uninteresting for me at all... I recognize that she has a beautiful voice, yes, she sings well but what is about her music that people find it so good... I honnestly don't understand... do you...'???

Madonna's too good to be prog.
Hence why this thread is in the wrong category/section/universe.

She's a phenomenal entertainer and has navigated the music industry like almost no other artist I can think of.
Do I actually enjoy her music? It's fine for pop but I don't listen to much pop anymore.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

I like her looks now that she is older... Seriously now, the best thing she has done is the charities to poorer countries and that is indeed an example to follow no mention about the music, even though she has produced 2-3 good songs

I'm not sure I would even goes as far as saying she has a beautiful voice her music's so dance there's no room for long notes.
I don't care for her.But liked the idea of a black Jesus.

One thing I do find entertaining about her is how she still manages to offend people even after all these years. You'd think that people who are offended by someone hanging from a fake crucifix on stage would have learned to ignore her by now.

I thought Ray of Light was an excellent album, working with William Orbit. She has always managed to reinvent her sound more for pop with the exception of Ray Of Light which is simply put - great material

I can do this with this sentence: "What does the MUSIC of x prog band have that is so special...?? the music
I've heard from x prog band is really boring and uninteresting for me at al" And for a good portion of the bands on the database here, it's true for me.

I love her first couple of albums, but I just like 80s pop in general.

Madonna is just like any other pop star, pretty weird lifestyle and beliefs, ruthlessly building their little pop empire never minding who they step on to get where they want to get, changing husbands or occasionally throwing a tantrum to keep the gossips happy....people like her always get what they want...it's a material world, she's a material girl...
as for the music, well it's just simple forgettable *pop*...i like a lot of modern pop music, some of it is very good indeed but Madonna is well past it.....simple repetative electronic dance music, nothing complicated about it at all, one or two songs could be interesting but mostly very average pop, the same as Jacko, what is all the fuss about?

I'm don't really like her but I liked some of her stuff from the 90s, especially the ballads and some songs from Ray of light, but that's it. Well, some of her 80's stuff is listenable but I can't stand most of her recent stuff.

I don't have any problem with her, her music or her fans, I don't like the muysic she plays, but that's just my taste.
As a fact I'm unfamiliar with any of her albums, only heard what reached radios, TV or some reunion and don't care about it.
But there's public for every genre.

She made one very good album: Ray of Light. Beyond that I dont really know what the fuss is about. I dont dislike her, as such. Just not my thing I guess.
