Poll #30.
Toughest match yet? Let's see how much love Mike O really has here on PA.

Well.....I've never been a fan of Oldfield's music so I'd have to go with either Satie or the Cure.

I am not familiar with any of these.

Well, at the moment it would have to be The Cure as they are going through somewhat of a revival presently (in my head only).

You've piqued my curiosity: Why not?
Is it just like I've never been able to vote in any of Mellotronstorm's odd "rio/avant/rpi/jazz" polls or hellogoodbye's "4 little gem" polls: I don't know any of them!??

This was easy for me: Ze Cure!!! I've always loved that album. Fits just about any occasion maybe except for rumba lessons.

I've usually heard either one or none of the choices, and that's not enough really.

The Cure CD is the only one I have listened to, so that made it simple.

Erik Satie for me by a mile. Hackett's classical/flute duet "Kim" is nearly a direct lift from a Satie solo piano piece and years later he released the outstanding "Sketches of Satie". Steve on classical and brother John on flute do an entire album of Satie arrangements...magical! If you like "Kim" get "Sketches of Satie", you won't be disappointed

As much as I appreciate The Cure, and even more Erik Satie and the Spice Girls, my vote goes to Mike Oldfield.
