Currently spinning this one and talk about crazy bass lines from Levin. When he plays the chapman stick the low end really comes thru nice and deep thru my speakers.....

^ I find them quite different from DT. I only have DT's Scenes From A Dream 2LP (from a shop in NYC's Times Square subway) and both the LTE vinyl sets. Whilst I think the DT is rather good, gimme LTE any day of the week. Sure one could say DT instrumental, but even better compositionally. Levin is in his element (though I'm certain he prefers charts to improvisation).

^^ Nice albums. I still don't have any of those, although I came across a copy of Pampered Menial last month.
It rained a lot last Sunday, so I listened to many LP's: I finally found a copy of it the other day. This album gets better with every spin! This is no "New Age of Earth" but I enjoyed this album more than I expected. Here's an obscurity, a 90's band from Boston inspired by The Kinks. I know it for years, back when video games were my source of new music (I first heard of Rush and Kansas thanks to Guitar Hero for example ). I found a cheap copy on Discogs, I think it's my first US pressing. I bought this classic Jazz album along with the Maiden one, it's one of my favourites and it's a great sounding 180 gram vinyl, like the others I have. A really good live album! It has a compressed version of Incantations (a good alternative to the double studio album) and a great live version of Tubular Bells, very different from the original. It closes with an awful Disco track though Only heard one album this week, I saw Steven Wilson the other night and spent the next days recovering from the concert ... this one is worth 10 though! I never heard bass like this, so clear and vibrant... and Peart's stereophonic breaks... and the guitar sounds so good "Natural Science" was particularly special but listening to this was really great, and I still have an unopened copy of Moving Pictures |

^ I have a few copies of PW by Rush......My best one is an audiophile copy pressed in Netherlands I bought in 1984, it's outstanding!
I've heard Natural Science live 2x and Jacobs Ladder live 3x......On the recent R40 Tour, Jacobs Ladder was absolutely brilliant!! It's in my top 5 Rush albums.

^ Did you buy the new one as well?
You seem to remember every detail about the Rush concerts you attended It's a good compromise between Prog and more radio friendly Rock And finally: I spent two hours configuring it, the instructions were very confusing, but fortunately there are videos on Youtube teaching how to do it. I only got it working after seeing a specific video that taught it for people that doesn't understand anything about it It is incredibly silent, it's like there isn't a motor running next to it, and I heard something I never heard before... static When I started playing the album the first thing I noticed was the thin sound of the needle (I know you warned me about it José ), but this one has so much more sound clarity and detail. It's definitely much better than my previous TT, but there's already room for improvement By the way, it comes with two mats, felt and cork. Which one is better? |

Haven't even tried the Blues yet. Got this though because of how people like them on here.

^ I don't have any albums from them, I always find something more interesting on the vinyl bins
I'm now alternating between new LP's and others I already had. I heard these this week: Once again Mr. Gilmour didn't disappoint. Just like his previous solo albums it's not really Prog but sublime Pop Rock music... and a nice vocal Jazz track too I think it's a more satisfying album than TER Another great album of colourful heavy psychedelic music A really trippy live album and it's a double one. It wasn't easy to get myself off the couch and flip it Yet another Rush reissue Amazing as always I also made another adjustment on the TT. I could hear a constant hum, especially at the beginning and end of the record and then I noticed the plinth vibrated because of the motor. It turns out there are two screws that control the suspension of the motor and one was loose and the other too tight, so I leveled them and it's silent now |

^ Man, you're working hard for perfection
As always, good to see quality vinyl selections. I think the new Gilmour deserves the 4th star. It's varied, not a weak track at all. It's different enough from Floyd, though you can be reminded of, perhaps, elements of Comfortably Numb (In Any Tongue) or the jazziness of San Tropez (The Girl In The Yellow Dress). Bless the guy. |

^ Yeah, I'm affraid I might start imagining noise someday
I wasn't expecting anything great after listening to the title track a few times, but the rest was surprising, much better than I expected. Better than Waters' new album |

^ I actually thought the title-song is rather decent - catchy as all-hell, great Pratt bass line too. Not the best song on the album, and not at all representative of what to expect. Michael wrote a superb review (as always) of RTL.

^ I don't think it's a bad song and the bass is definitely the best thing on it, but his best bass work is on "Today" (I saw Pratt's one-man show earlier this year, he's hilarious ). It sure is superb and I share the same opinion about the album
