Well today in PABT, we had a pretty nice choice of who to include in our honourable pantheon,  but I have decided to go for a veritable corporate saint, but also to draw your attention to the very first identifiable pornography merchant I have found on the site, of which a little bit more later.

Today’s birthday star is acoustictones, or David Breckheimer as Mom and Dad named him 50 years ago today in that seething pit of Americadom, Minnesota.

David joined our happy throng in November 2009 for all of one and a half hours before disappearing into his personal wilderness never to be seen again until his glorious resurrection in this thread. Now if only his birthday had been on Sunday, it would have added so much to that particularly holy day. Never mind, every day is the resurrection in PABT!

When he joined, our David gave his occupation as a guitar instructor, with his interests very helpfully aligning with this noble profession as music, guitars, and music. Is this, though, the whole story?

Not really. You see, David is truly versed in, and blessed with, the art of talking corporate bollocks, something which instantly accords him higher human being status in Lazland. Let us examine his CorporateArmsOut site;  David Breckheimer - Coach, Consultant and Trainer - Cultivate Wins | LinkedIn

As you can see, David is a “small business coach” in Stillwater, that raging torrent of vice in aforementioned Minnesota. I have to say, it does look very nice there, and, from the site, you can discover the city as the perfect place for a girlfriend getaway, romantic escape, and corporate retreat, so the ideal combination for any business executive thinking about a reasonable excuse to shag his Secretary without Her Indoors becoming too suspicious; A Year-Round Travel Destination| Stillwater Minnesota Tourism Regrettably, the City Hall is closed owing to lurgy precautions at present, but Stillwater has managed to break the recent monopoly on garbage collection by our friends at Republic Services, utilising instead Waste Management, all under the dynamic leadership of James C. Fish Jr. Have a look at the management team, who surely must have benefited from our David’s particular expertise https://www.wm.com/us/en/location/mn

Back to David, whose business is based upon YOU achieving YOUR goals! He is committed to ensuring that work-life balance is not a pipe dream, so plenty of time for any budding entrepreneurs in Stillwater to take that 80 minutes, or so, to groove to Topographic Oceans away from the corporate frenzy that is modern business life. Initially, David grabs our love by emphasising “personal growth”, which is beautifully warm and cuddly, but rather spoils it all by then announcing his love for, and experience in, the Real Estate Industry. In other words, David is an estate agent, probably about the only profession more loathed in the western world than politicians or football agents.

So what about the moosic, David? Well, having tarnished his reputation somewhat as a chap who enables the fleecing of decent folk looking to buy their home, David redeems himself when he reveals that he has, for a number of years, worked within the prison system, bringing churches and bands into said nicks to provide full weekend retreats for the inmates.

And here he is in all his glory on Cultivatewins.com, alongside a guest moo, his rather gorgeous other half, and with his guitar. At last!! About David All of this has been written by his friend and colleague, Mo, who believes in Our David 100%. How nice! Take a look at his blog, where you can learn all about success and failure, and what the cool yoof are doing (Gratitude Journaling, since you ask). For those of you, and I can imagine many takers, interested in learning the compassionate and practical approach to Transaction Management (aka flogging an overpriced home to the throng), this is the place for you!

So, let us finish with some music. Firstly, from David’s SadToday page, his favourite artist is one Kirk Fletcher. Who he, I hear the throng cry? Well, he is a master of the blues guitar, and here is is in all his glory - 12 minutes of utter blues heaven, folks https://youtu.be/wnBx4CNSvbc

And, lastly, one of my favourite toons as homage to the gloriously undervalued estate agent, sorry realtor, profession from which David hails; https://youtu.be/U8ljtylRkFw I absolutely love that track.

So! Happy birthday, David! Mind that step to the garden whilst celebrating tonight! We know that “could benefit from improvement” means you are selling a sh*thole!

In present brethren news, we wish a very happy birthday to elpprogster, also known as elp-progster, given that he has registered with his beloved site twice. As the first incarnation, Roger Silva joined the site in November 2004, and lasted a few months into 2005, and celebrates his 53rd birthday in Portugal today. As the latest, regenerated, brother, he joined in January 2005, but changed his name to the one we now know and love, because he still comes to visit as Jorge Nogueira. So! Happy birthday, Roger, or Jorge! Which one is it, man? Are you Doctor Who in disguise?

And last, but by no means least for the adult bodies copulating together brigade, why don’t you check out Jimibeee? Jim from the UK is 41 today, and likes porn and rock, and very helpfully provided the panting masses with a homepage link to a genuine Barry Horne site. Now Mr Laz has not clicked “enter” onto this particular intertit gem, as Mrs Laz, quite rightly, disapproves of such things, but I will seriously consider awarding a special PABT “pervert of the year” prize to the member (ouch!) who can cum back and inform the masses as to whether this would be a worthy way to spend five minutes of our time.

Another good laugh from Laz, that just proves that the truth about people is always stranger than fiction. And funnier! LOL Btw, I once heard Stillwater Minn. referred to as a poor man's answer to Hershey, Pennsylvania. Take that as you will.

Well who can ignore a challenge like that?
Accepted.

Well, that was both a disappointment and a shock.
Only one set of photos, and at first I thought it was a site about what to do in the case of an in home accident.

But then I realized this was the photo location.
Well I'll spare you the grisly details of the remaining dozen or so shots, but suffice to say, they chose the proper room in the house for the rest of the pictures.

I guess I'm just old fashion. This is the most deviant bathroom photo I've ever done.

Well, JD, that was a disappointment! Please do console yourself, though, as the recipient of our first ever “pervert of the year” award, although it does stretch the imagination somewhat to describe that as perverted. Your leg shot, though. That is way more like it!!

Today on the PABT, your go to place for all things PA, we have an extraordinarily exciting first. Indeed, Mr Laz is dribbling on his iPad at the very thought of this post.

Because, over the weeks we have been doing this thread, we have had many personages to discuss. Many have registered and buggered off without sharing nary a thought with us. Some have been blatantly advertising their wares, many are of the musical persuasion, with a good few even within the Temple of Prog we call Prog Archives as artists. Yesterday, we even had a porn merchant, although as our extremely brave roving reporter, JD, stated, it amounted to a pair of legs hanging over what looked like a bog, so not too much excitement there, although we continue to live in hope.

But today, we have a MOP. Yep, a MOP. Given that everything in today’s corporate jungle has to be provided with an acronym, MOP stands for Man Of Principle, because this is what today’s Prog God is, a chap who didn’t leave because he was fed up, didn’t leave because he discovered the joys of ogling and listening to Taylor Swift far outweighed those of getting to grips with Can, didn’t even leave because he had been subjected to a font-mad rant by Ivana. Nope, Dragon Phoenix, who celebrates his 64th birthday today, left the forum on a POP (Point Of Principle) in November 2007, more than three years after he had joined and contributed wisely and regularly to the fanged throng.

So! Just what was the POP that turned the MOP? Have a look see at this thread; Black Sabbath inclusion - Progressive Rock Music Forum - Page 1 Yep, our beloved founder, Mad Max, had ordered the inclusion of those legendary Brummie ‘eadbangers, Black Sabbath, into the pantheon of prog. On 12 October 2007, Hennie Schape, our MOP, posted this POP; “Seriously, as much as I like listening to BS, this is the last straw. This site is making a complete mockery of itself. I am out of here.”

Before we examine what our Hennie has been up to these last 13 plus years, let us talk about this cataclysmic event in the history of PA, an event so seismic that it does offer hope for those still yearning for the inclusion of Sir Cliff Richard  into Prog Related. Here is the link that Hugues placed in order to provide an explanation to the hairy hordes. Simply scroll down to see the (very extended) reasons why Sabbath should be on the site; BLACK SABBATH discography and reviews

Let us, in true PABT fashion, cut out the BS (the smelly stuff, not the band). No matter what arguments there are for Ozzy and Co being on the site, it boiled down to one reason and one reason alone, which I shall refer to as the Big Tits reason. What this? Well, I shall explain. Imagine, if you can, an ever so clever academic whose specialism is, say, the examination of the behaviour of sub-atomic particles, a subject so desiccated it would make the Gobi Desert appear flooded, and so narrow that only a very select few clever clogs would ever bother to visit his ramblings on how quarks wobble when subjected to electromagnetic pressure. However, imagine that said latter-day Einstein decided to post a picture of a luscious blond with extremely large and desirable mammary glands alongside the Google ad, you might think that the site visit count would be considerably higher, and you would be right. Tits always attract more clicks than quarks, and that, my dear friends, is why Sabbath were plonked into our beloved site. Click bait. Simple as, although, of course, one could make an argument that as we are still here to debate such issues, it was a damned good and clever little wheeze on the part of MAX.

Anyhoo, what about our very learned friend Hennie since he had his strop? First, let us take a look at his blog site; Art for art's sake This is just about as impressive as it gets, and I am rather full of admiration for this. Take some time to have a good tour, including his discussion of pop/rock faves, which is really interesting for its eclectic range.

Talking about eclectic, when Hennie registered he listed his interests as “Bambi Phoenix, cocker spaniels, music, art, mafia, chess”. Now, my friends. I know what a cocker spaniel is, I know what music is, I like a nice painting, I enjoy watching mobsters whack each other in the movies, and I can even do a Queen’s Gambit when pressed. But, for the life of me, and I have tried, I have no idea whatsoever what a Bambi Phoenix is. No f**king clue! Therefore, an honorary PABT “special researcher” appointment to any of you who can educate the masses and I. Ta!

So, what else of our MOP? Well, here is a link to his photography/art site, also worth a tour of; Galerie LuS: Fine art and photography: Hennie Schaper For those of you visiting Holland, and Kampen in particular, why don’t you visit Hennie at the gallery, and inform him that you are only there owing to the PABT? You never know, somebody who would have added a huge amount to the site might come back.

So! We wish a Van Harte Gefeliciteerd to our very good friend, Hennie! Don’t be Paranoid, and Sabotage PA! Be Iron Man, and come back!

I'm guessing it might have been the love of his life?
Or, an infatuation?
Or, heaven forbid, a stalking victim.

Nice find JD, but I am not convinced that she is connected to our man just yet. The love of his life, bless him, is a wonderful lady he met whilst working in Singapore. But you are right, it must be a reference to a name, so roving reporter status is hereby granted by PABT!

And the winner of the Special Researcher post goes to Nick. Boldly going where no Laz has gone before, and etc.

To win an actual prize, any chance of telling us what, precisely, the point of all of that gobbledegook on this forum was?

The site is dedicated to puzzles.
This conversation seems to be a 'What would you do" scenario.
A poor man's Kobayashi Maru test.

Not sure if that really qualifies as a puzzle, but Mrs. JD is the puzzler in this household, it's not my thing. Probelm solving...now that's completely different.

And talking about puzzles, in hindsight the name Bambi Phoenix was obviously his other half, given his alter ego. I blame it on the four hours of clearing brambles and weeds out the front this afternoon.

Thanks, JD. It just goes to show that a mention on the PABT provides for more visits to a somewhat pointless forum that it ever got 18 years ago!

Today, we present for your pleasure and listening experience a very special edition of PABT, taking you back to the halcyon days of all things psychedelic and magic mushrooms, man, with our special guest stars Ayup and, wait for it, The Pink Floyd.

Terry G, or Terry Garrett as his parents very wisely named him 71 years ago, is a true veteran of “the scene”. He joined our spaced out throng in May 2005, and stayed for almost four years. When he joined, he was a telecoms engineer, and listed his interests as music, chess, gardening, and computers. So far, so relatively humdrum.

But, a look at one of the posts he shared with us gives a clue as to his activities when men were men, cows were cows, and each were particularly happy with that exalted status in life. In what will not be the first instance of mistaken identity running through today’s post, take a look at his very excited contribution of 17 March 2009 at the announcement that Comus had announced a tour of the Land of the Free that year; http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=56413 Our Terry, and this was a very easy mistake to make, had mistook our fine and highly regarded SC, Jim “Finnforest”, for Bobbie Watson herself from those exalted hairy, beardy types COMUS discography and reviews Said tour was, unfortunately, and in an eerie portent of the past twelve months, cancelled, and rearranged for the following year. Jim did not, I am afraid, carry on with the joke, and Terry left our shores never to be seen again until today, no doubt bitterly disappointed that “Bobbie” didn’t have the good grace to bother with a reply.

His signature was Ayup, and this, rather than being the greeting from somebody of the Northern English persuasion, as in “Ayup, lad, how’s tha today?”, was the name of the band he played in Sevenoaks, Kent, all the way back in 1964, the year that Mummy Laz proudly pushed your author out. The only other band member I have found of the list is Chris Cross (Allen), who went on to become the bass guitarist in Ultravox. No, really. Here is his WikiVienna page; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Cross

Regrettably, we have no trace of the boys performing on the world wide inter web. Scroll down on this forum on 23 January 2009 to see our hero with more reminiscing, and Terence Ruffle’s fascinating reports of classic gigs Terence Ruffle » Emerson, Lake and Palmer at the Oval September 30th 1972

So, what is our hero up to now? Well, he retired from working for British Telecom (old enough to remember when it was, pre-privatisation, The Post Office) in 2008, and since then has simply been enjoying himself Terry Garrett - Retired - Retired and enjoying time to pursue personal interests and family | LinkedIn

So! Happy birthday, Terry! It is a pleasure to be able to delve into, even for the briefest of time, the life of an old music stalwart, who was there and actually did it back in the day, before leading what I am sure was a fine family life!

In other news, it is a great pleasure to announce the 42nd birthday of apps79, an SC who I did work with briefly when we were both collabs on the neo-prog team. He hasn’t been around here for a wee while, but apps has, in fact, created a major storm hereabouts on the very day of his birthday. Yes! Look! http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=28343&PN=258 Our  wonderful new member of the faithful, Mr Wintertree, had posted to complain that the exalted brother apps, in his review of The Winter Tree album, accused the band of plagiarism. MAGUS / THE WINTER TREE The Winter Tree music review by apps79

In the interests of journalistic balance and fairness, the PABT did try to contact The Winter Tree’s keyboardist for comment on this, but was informed that Mr Richard Wright sadly was no longer on this mortal coil. However, I was able to get ahold of their spokesperson, a Mr Guy Pratt of Messrs Wall & Co, who provided me with the following statement:

“My clients wholly refute any suggestion that their seminal albums Saucerful of Secrets and Meddle were taken from the music and lyrics of Pink Floyd, an act now only remembered by a very few obsessive types on Internet forums such as Progressive Noses. Winter Tree will continue to delight the world with their original material, including in 2021 The Final Cut. Further, I can today exclusively reveal that Andrew Laitres appears on the brand new Peter Gabriel album, Foxtrot. It is hoped that all such speculation will now cease, and any further attempts to compare my clients music with a bunch of clapped out old hippies will result in immediate legal action to stop all defamation of character”.

Happy birthday, apps!

By the way, those of you wondering what all the fuss is really about, can listen to two of Pink Floyd’s tracks from The Winter Tree on GoggleTube here;

https://youtu.be/Pttl8KpbCew Babylon

https://youtu.be/9n0UzsSokB0 Guardian Angel

Personally, I think they sound f**k all like The Winter Tree, but there you go.

Today, we on the PABT take a trip to the Other Side. Yep, that place we all must eventually end up in when we depart this mortal coil and learn whether we have been sufficiently good boys or girls in order to qualify for the beautific afterlife, or have been so bad we have an eternity of Beelzebub and Ivan for hot company.

Toby-or-notToby joined the mad throng in April 2007, and stayed in our company for more than four years without channelling a single syllable to entertain us. This, though, is because Albert Toby, who celebrates his 62nd birthday in Land of the Tulips today, was far too busy sharing his thoughts with the departed to bother with the likes of the hairy living.

For Our Albert is a Regression and Past Life Therapist, a first for the PABT. Past life regression is a technique that attempts to use hypnosis in order to recover memories from previous lives, and it is ever so slightly controversial, owing deeply to the fact that nobody has ever really proven that the soul continues after the body packs its bags and heads off into eternal rest. Here is a pointy head paper discussing said therapy; Is past life regression therapy ethical?

Albert very helpfully provided us with a link to his homepage, which is in Dutch TOBY or not TOBY – Regressie- en reïncarnatietherapie, coaching en lezingen His PastLinked site, however, can be viewed in The Queen’s English Albert Toby - Regression & Past Life Therapist - TobyornotToby | LinkedIn Very invitingly, Albert informs us that his services can assist the masses to “be and become who you are, more and more”. Tonight, Mrs Laz, I am Casanova!

Albert also has a GoggleTube site, and he can be viewed in all of his glory here https://youtu.be/QgwECaewNwQVery demonstrative arms has Our Albert, always important when reaching out to the departed.

Also, as part of the PABT Mission to bring you extremely helpful information and life coaching on a daily basis, I am very pleased to report that Albert also offers his services in a Dutch career coaching business Coaches – Carrière Coach Café This, I believe, must be extremely helpful for the brethren seeking alternative employment. I can just see the interview now. “What makes you suitable for the position of Chief Executive of the Dutch Tax Authority, Mr Laz?” “Well, Mr Chancellor, I was Augustus in a previous life. Mr Toby confirmed it at one of his couch sessions. Compared to running an empire, running the tax system should really be a piece of piss, don’t you think?”

So! We wish a very Van Harte Gefeliciteerd to our communicative brother! Sod talking to Dickson Laz in 1788, get someone to give me tonight’s winning lottery numbers!

In present collab news, it is a pleasure to wish a very happy 26th birthday to our wonderful Calculus Rock collab, Horizons. Austin celebrates his special day in Somewhere Else this evening, and we hope he has a very nice time!

Also, our very good friend razifa, who joined the mad throng all the way back in 2005, and still puts up with us, is 42 today. Happy birthday, sir!

Hehe... If this all works, then I think Mrs Laz will have a splendid time tonight... If this all doesn't work, I guess she still will have a good time, I trust - just don't spend all evening on PA, Laz! Beer
