^ First prog album I bought. Was in the army at the time and played it quite often that summer even if I didn't enjoy it much...my brothers-in-arms disliked it very much, though.

My first exposure to it was in a book that I had that listed the top 50 best rock albums of all times and top 50 worst albums of all times and TFTO was listed in both categories. (I can't remember if it was 50 or a different number, but that was the gist of this book). Basically, you either love it or hate it. I was afraid to buy it for that reason, and when I finally got around to buying it, I didn't really know what to think. I really didn't like it all that much. Fortunately, it has grown on me over the years.

^ love that album.
Home from work and I need some Starship!!! ummm hmmm... not my favorite album..actually has one of the only Marty Balin (JA, JS, solo) songs I don't like, and I love his voice, I'd even have been his bitch if he asked nice enough. Only Richard Sinclair and David Sylvian have voice enough to perhaps flip me... incredible.. even if they were singing the yellow pages I'd melt.. but has my favorite JS track so I indulge it. |

Faye Wong - Chang You (Scenic Tour) Certainly her most iconic album cover, it's maybe the mellowest of her golden era (mid 90s thru early 00's) with lots of folksy dream-pop tunes. Amazing how she's sold numerous millions of albums, yet noone's really tried to emulate her style in China/HK/Taiwan...at least successfully, unless I'm missing out.

Sorry Steveo I was busy reviewing before, so I missed your post. No need to apologise for a negative comment - especially when it's done like that I do like it, but I don't love it. The opener 5 Years, Moonage Daydream and Rock n Roll Suicide are all wonderful though. Yeah give Lodger a second chance. I happen to think it features some of Belew's best guitar work ever. The solo of Red Sails never fails to send shivers down my spine....but then again he's everywhere. Besides Red Sails, there's D.J., Boys Keep Swinging, African Night Flight (Bowie goes avant!), Yassassin, Red Money, Look back in Anger, the poignantly sharp lyrics of Amazing Journey and.... heh now I'm just naming every track on there
