These bands play a similar form of music from the same era, so this is a decent poll. I also think that Roy Albrighton and Jan Akkerman are fairly similarly (highly) talented guitarists. Both bands have extended suites that are highly musical, with good singers, but have lyrics that are often cliche. Nektar has a larger discography of high quality music, but I voted 'both equally'.

I have the 4 Nektar albums 1971-3. A Tab In The Ocean really stands out but after that I’d rather hear the 3 Focus albums 1971-4 in my collection. So voted Focus overall.
