It would be easier to pick their worst songs, as there isn't many. These are just the titles that give me goosebumps.

I just re-read the 5 things about Genesis. I see Hacket Hacket Hacket, but my IMMORTAL is
1. Anthony Phillips - wrote "The Musical Box and Fountain of Salmacis" as well as All of "Trespass" an album which I hold dear.
2. Peter Gabriel. His vocals on Stagnation and the Musical Box were the most impressive I had ever heard. His emotional and vocal tones were unique, TWILIGHT ALE HOUSE
3. Banks Banks Banks, his keyboard wizardry especially Supper's Apocolypse in 9/8..........
4. Collins - Supper's Ready....short drum roll at end? Though Second's Out version IS great by all means "Chester Thompson couldn't do the drum roll (one of the most difficult drumming techniques there is). And Phil's pounding out of Musical Box and doing the alto Supper sections behind Gabriel.
5. Hacket/Rutherford - Rutherford does a magnificent job of bass notes throughout, but have you heard them lately on "Please Don't Ask?" Follow Michael on that one, just beautiful. Besides, his peddles on Firth of Fifth and Can-Utility. Hacket? What a hack lol. I'm still pissed at him for leaving.
I had never heard prog before Genesis, I started late, I heard Carpet Crawl then delved in and back-tracked. OK it WAS 32 years ago Lol

I like your list! Including Fading Lights a very poigniant song that can bring a tear to your eye knowing it would be the LAST Genesis song. Might want to listen to Stagnation a couple times, it may come out topping your list.

Now there's a hard thing to say, after Genesis is my favorite band and this business lists and "top 10" are not my forte. But definitely the best of the best of the best for me are(not necessarily in that order) -Supper's Ready -Firth of Fifth -In the Cage -Los Endos (it's hard to pick a song Atota because he's my favorite album of the band, but this is the best instrumental of all time) -Eleventh Earl of Mar -One for the Vine -Duke 's Travels -Home by the Sea / Second Home by the sea (for me is just a song, and I know it's pop, but ...) -Domino (call me crazy) -Driving the last spike
As for the reasons I love this band, are simple: -Tony Banks is my favorite keyboardist of all time
-Peter Gabriel is my favorite song writer and along with Phil Collins is one of my favorite vocalists -Mike Rutherford is the best "quick fix" of progressive rock (kidding, Mike, you are a genius) -Steve Hackett is tied with David Gilmour the most amazing guitarist in the universe to me
