The Snow Goose for me, I only like a couple of songs from Trick.

A Trick of the Tail.

Had it been pitted against Mirage or Moonmadness, on the other hand...

Genesis

Some people just prefer boring more tranquil music.

I do love Camel but sometimes they do sound like elevator music to me.
Yep I know what you mean. To me they are just another prog band. Not as complex as Gentle Giant and not as bombastic as ELP. They melt into the background a bit.

I prefer Snow Goose to Trick... but neither is a particular favourite.

I like these polls, because they do engender some positive and interesting debates.

I vote for TOTT, which is unutterably brilliant. I played Snow Goose the other night, and the reason why this doesn't get my vote, as exceptional as it is, is because when I listen to it, it seeps out 1970's production and playing, whereas the Genesis album still sounds fresh and could easily have been produced now.

The Snow Goose is the only Camel album that manages not to put me asleep after 5 minutes. But still, Genesis. Even though TotT has "Robbery, Assault and Battery". And that song is.......................

I think The Snow Goose would have been better if Camel were allowed to release it as they intended, but I still vote for it.

I love Robbery Assault and Battery, this is the first I have heard negative comments about it. Is it widely disliked then?

Well, I can't choose between those albums. They are both great.

I want to hear that elevator music you've been listening to. If it sounds like Snow Goose...it must be good.

That song is so underrated! I have been surprised to realize that it somehow is not as appreciated as the other tracks. Maybe because the "disco"feeling in the chorus. But what about the stunning 13/8 part, with the cool synth solo? Mind blowing. For me it's a prog classic.

^ No, no I'm already familiar with Camel. Haven't heard much 70's elevator music though. Wasn't that sort of bossanova oriented?
