Oh yeah. Gang of Four were killer when it came to opening albums; "Paralysed", Solid Gold's opener, is also excellent.

1971 debut "L'Uomo" by Osanna. A mix of experimental progressive rock
and hard jazz rock with a heavy guitar solos and great flute and sax.
Some mellower moments.

Indeed. Stellar album in general even though Ether is my favorite track.

This is a great album by Brazilian progressive rock band Bacamarte.
Symphonic prog compositions loaded with flowing electric and acoustic
guitar solos, excellent keyboards, melodic flute and very solid bass.
Exceptional vocals by Jane Duboc.

Quinto Stato (1979) by Arti & Mestieri from Italy. Very good fusion that
is sometimes funky and other times easy listening. Several musicians with
a variety of instruments that are all played well. Italian vocals are rough.

1982 release "Papallones I Elefants" by Metamorfosis from Spain.
Instrumental jazz rock fusion and symphonic comps with very good
keyboard and guitar interaction. Consistent JRF style bass lines.
This really is a great album.
