Yes I like modern RPI sound, certainly I love '70s sound. First love never never forgets.
Echoes of this is my love for Il Tempio Delle Clessidre, the voice of ex Museo Rosenbach!!! Wink
Anyway I'll listen Ingranaggi Della Valle soon, I've got in my jard disc but not still listened! Clap

Sagichim I'm agree with you. Prog is like the ability to navigate many different channels of the same sea, sometimes could be possible forget any canal! But rediscover "a lost familiar gem" is always an incredible experience.
Aussye-Bird-Brother and Progbethyname, hope to listen in the wright way (lonely with in ear music) UNREAL CITY. I see you have become superfans of them, surely is a good album Thumbs Up
What impressions have you listening it?

Unreal City are like Fire Wagon RPI. Their young, and they play with a ton of power and vigor. It was really impressive to hear something like that from a group of young musicians who have just released one album.
The Hammond, Moog and Mellotron are played with virtuosity both in the modern and classical sense. I also love Zuffanti's voice. His sings with such emotion and a bit of desperation at times. I love it.
Also, Micheal (Aussie-Byrd-Brother) wrote a great review on it if you wanna check it out. He explains his feelings on it very well. :) welcome to PA as well by the way. Oh and again, good work on the Apoteosi appreciation.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention and discovery. :)

Thanks to you Nicholas (and Micheal) for constructive dialogue. Everyone is born with classic RPI album, but an "open ear" must to approach to new bands, especially when they are valid. Despite'm 28 I prefer "old sound", but surely I'll follow your advice.
The way you speak about UNREAL CITY take me curiosity. Also Micheal introduce me to this band.

^ The album is not progressive at all but it does contain some beautiful acoustic songs, very much in the vein of their album with Adriano Monteduro.

Reale Accademia di Musica... good idea...
Personally I prefer their debut album, is much more in line with classic RPI. Vertigine what a wonder, I adore it.

I must listen the album with Adriano Monteduro. I've got it but I've not listened with attention...

Can't go wrong with Arti e Mestieri, Jim/AEP!

That one you highlighted is particularly special, but these two live ones here are very nice too!

That one has a lovely and pleasing more modern concert with a vintage recording as well, both sound very different!

I've also got this live CD/DVD combo, two different performances, one which has some members of King Crimson on it. Problem is a) I don't recall if they are on the CD or the DVD concert, and b) I haven't watched and/or listened to a single second of any of this yet!!

^ Thanks!  Will have to check those out, should be awesome with KC members!

Been on a RPI binge on the last couple of days.  Just purchased Unreal City and listening to first track now, WOW!  I can tell I will like this....Thumbs Up

Oh, enjoyed your reviews of late, I am unfamiliar with Adebert Von Deyen until I read your review.  The earlier works sound like something I should check out.

Ha, thanks Jim! I've been on a bit of a bender challenging myself to submit one review a day until the end of the year!

So far so good, and 9 more days to go, then I can collapse! There will be some more Italian ones coming up very soon too.

Oh yes, pratically I try to know all RPI's bands cause this sub-genres is hereinafter referred to as the past, when many painters and sculptor create works. Today is the same thing, but the artists became musicians and this is so lovely!!!
The ideas to make "all in family" like Apoteosi, is a particular thing that belongs to us in southern Italy. Brothers Idą (and father with records) gave us a marvelous album, in contrast with strange reality of southern Italy.
And you? Which RPI bands do you like?

Hello again Marco....I like Quella Vecchia Locanda a ton, they are one of the bands that hooked me.  Banco, Metamorfosi, Battiato, Festa Mobile, Balletto di Bronzo, to name a few.  But so many great albums!  Smile
