I have the 1972 reissue NM/NM. But after hearing the MFSL version of ELP Pictures at an Ex I really wanted to see what was available. My preference is the late 70's early/mid 80's releases.

i did look at the Wilson Yes remixes and they are only part of a box set, that I think includes CD's.
I also had my eye on the Genesis remixed box set but only found one for sale locally at almost $500. Ouch.

I almost bought that Genesis box set, local store had it for like $120 like 8-9yrs ago. I ended up buying them individually, these are the Nick Davis remix versions from 2008.
I think they sound fantastic, most of my original Charisma versions are veiled as they are the US issues. SEBTP is almost unlistenable, but the remix version is excellent!

Actually, sorry guys, but I think that kind of reissues (heavy weight "maxi-singles") is environmental sin
and lack of respect for the original releases.

All too bad to do in relation to environmental considerations, as it causes unnecessary pollution and other environmental problems. Many others today try to limit the use of plastic as much as possible.

I can't say what's best to do concerning the automotive industry, but generally speaking, it could surely be better than it is today.

Records are hardly an issue when you consider all the steel structures in the world that have a negative effect on carbon sequestration as well just to create the steel used has a positive effect to carbon emissions, meaning a lot of emissions.

Btw about cassettes (MCs), certainly not as good sound quality as with LPs, but no jitter - which is probably
what has bothered me most with CDs.

About CD history, it wouldn't suprise me if the whole idea for the medium came from MCs, as another and
more compact medium than vinyl, and which also provided additional sale.

This is a vinyl thread but I'm curious, Nicholas.
What kind of CD player do you have, and which CD formats can it play?

Hi,

I seriously doubt this ... because too many bands sell on their own, which the RIAA could not count properly ... and would distort the numbers.

I get really tired of this record company fight that independence is bad, and we need to go back to a corporate entity for the music! We don't, and we shouldn't! This is just like Variety telling you that some band is 1 or2, when the only count they have is a handful of sellers, or some bloated numbers telling them that something sold this many copies (or printed x number) ...

We want, need, and must have the arts independent. So that a republican party can not continue denying PBS and other institutions any funding ... because ... well ... you know the truth ... they are way too liberal for them!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
