Svet, how about one or two suggestions per day?  It would be nice if people could actually take the time to appreciate what is posted without being overwhelmed by so many YT clips.

Janelle Monae's new album is weird sci-fi concept album motown pop. You might want to check that out.

EDIT: Whoops, not rock. You might not like it either. In that case, my consolation would be Dodos, particularly their 2010 album "No Color."

When I first got into TI I couldn't quite pinpoint which one of the Beatles the vocalist sounded the most like, and then it dawned on me, that he sounded like the perfect combo of Lennon and McCartney rolled up into one. Not a bad starting point one would imagine.

Also, Have you ever checked out Wolfmother Jim? Like TI they're also from down under, but whereas The Beatles fingerprint is all over the subdued gazelle, there's much more of a Led Zeppelin feel to these guys. I particularly enjoy their debut.

Mew is prog.

Even though they are listed here, I've never really considered Mew prog. Fantastic, fantastic band (especially their albums 'Frengers' and '...And The Glass Handed Kites'). One of my all time favorites because of those two albums, for sure, their sound is very special to me. 

That aside, they don't really qualify for this topic as they formed in the late 90s, not post-2000 (even though they didn't hit it big until post-2000)

Coheed and Cambria and The Mars Volta are obvious choices if you're on here. People like to compare them but the only real similarities are that they have some latino members and play the guitar.

Circa Survive is pretty good rock stuff and the Arctic Monkeys sure play that boom-boom-ba-dum music.
