Love that Kultivator album Sagi! Always felt a strong Canterbury and Zeuhl odour coming from that one.....and it's from Sweden no less!!!

Pretty mellow Sunday with my folks. Spent most of it out in the garden pulling weeds out of the ground whilst listening to:

Django Django - Born Under Saturn
Edgar Broughton Band - Sing Brother Sing
Brian Jonestown Massacre - Aufheben
Invisible - El Jardin de los Presente
Dr John - Gris-Gris
Brand X - Livestock
Genesis - Shapes
“The Guide says there is an art to flying or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.”

One of my most favourite albums from Sweden no doubt about it. Also the last reissue of it contains excellent bonus material which is now really worth the purchase.
And yes man the Zehul influences are all over it which is another reason for me to like it so much. BTW another band that comes to mind when I mention Kultivator is Myrbein, also from Sweden and also released their only album in the same year 81'.

Yeah, listening to it always leaves me with a smile on my face, and I agree about the sunny vibe as well. It really is a summer album for me (to be played in the summer, or any other time of the year when I wish it was summer LOL). I think I got the album and listened to it for the first time in the summer/early spring as well. And you're not the first to compare the sound of it to The Doors. I always think of The Beatles and The Beach Boys, too, when I listen to it, but that's perhaps because of the summer connection. LOL Glad you like it. As you probably understand by now, it's a spceial album for me. First MP album I got and heard. Pretty much love at first listen.

Led Zeppelin - The Soundtrack from the Film The Song Remains the Same (their best live album? OK, that's probably HtWWW, but this is really great too, wonder why I don't listen to it more often...listening to the soundtrack beats watching the movie, that's for sure. The movie's good too, of course, but I prefer to just concentrate on the music, makes you realise how good it really is)
I'll have to get the album to listen this summer Tongue It is certainly easier to get into it at first listen than the last one, but both really great in different ways Smile By the way, I listened to a song from 'Death Defying Unicorn' the other day and it sounds really epic Big smile

I only saw the movie, it's really good although I find the 30 minute version of Dazed and Confused so boring Sleepy
TDDU is epic from start to finish, Sam. A true prog rock masterpiece. Their first, and probably last. Not ones to stay within a genre for too long, MP, in fear of getting stale, and being pigeonholed by critics.

That said, their last album, "En konsert...", is a slight return to prog, although not really. It has some of the same qualities as TDDU, but it doesn't sound the same, much. Slightly same approach, but not really. Same, but different, if you know what I mean. Wink LOL

See what you mean regarding "Dazed...", a bit boring, I agree, and too long, too. Watching it, at least. Hearing it without having to watch Jimmy climbing up that mountain is definitely favorable. LOL

Farmers Market - Slav to the Rhythm (You're right Audun, it's so different. I really like their Fusion Folk sound. The only aspect that relates the two albums I listened are the vocals Tongue)
What was the other album of theirs you listened to, their debut? They're not totally dissimilar sounding from their first album to their last, some things are still there, most notably, as you say, the vocals, but they're a band that's progressing, that's for sure! Wink

Anyway, the last few days:

Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
Led Zeppelin - Presence
Led Zeppelin - In Through the Out Door
Led Zeppelin - Coda
Led Zeppelin - Celebration Day
Page & Plant - No Quarter: Jimmy Page & Robert Plant Unledded
Page & Plant - Walking into Clarksdale
Robert Plant - Dreamland
Steely Dan - Aja
Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene

Today started with Supertramp' "Crisis? What Crisis?"

Maybe I go Bowie after.
