You're pretty normal. Tori Amos is a fine musician, and of course people here love Santana and his cruddy albums. And Scorpions are one of Opeth's main inspirations.
Scorpions for prog related? |
You think the thought didn't enter my mind? I am sure proggers will enjoy the first two Scorpions albums and then they were an influence on European power metal and in turn on the symphonic power-prog wave from the mid-90s onwards. Maybe some other time.

Well, I think we have to draw the line somewhere, and although I'm sure the Scorpions have plenty of material that proggers would adore, that's taking things a bit too far. I seriously think that tons of turmoil would pop up if there was an actual suggestion like that. I mean, with all these old farts riled up about Metallica being on a prog site...
Their loss.

Lol, my suggestion was purely in jest anyway . My own view is that it is more important to add obscure bands to the website that are clearly prog than to add famous bands that have some relation to prog, who hasn't heard of Scorpions anyway. I write reviews for metal-archives.com and we don't practise anything like metal-related there so no King Crimson, no Blue Oyster Cult, no Uriah Heep. This by no means puts an end to debate because way too many metalheads are not interested in its development through the 70s and don't consider even Black Sabbath's 70s material as metal, least of all Scorpions and Rainbow (who are on the metal-archives). But at least then the line is drawn at the core of the genre, related becomes a broad concept. Ok ok this is well outside the topic, so I stop.

And Ms Minogue's latest (I guess) "How does it feel in my arms" - hampered by the lame chorus, the rest of the song just feels very good!

Anything Ms Minogue does is pure bliss....
