nothing wrong except the opening statement :

"This is Kamelot's 4th album and 1st album with former Conception singer Roy Khan."

the first album with Roy Khan as vocal actually is 'Siege Perilous', the previous album

*bump*

is this the right place for this anyway ?

Cheers Kaz, now changed.

DREAM THEATER — Systematic Chaos
Review by Corujolio (jose daniel chacon)

5%20stars Systematic Chaos... hmmm... what can I say about this album? for me is one of the best albums from "Rudess Era". Really complex, technical, dark... I really like this album.

In The Presence of Enemies Pt.1: Awesome intro, cool singing, HUGE UNISON! 9.5/10

Forsaken: A more commercial song, but still being a nice song... great feeling by Petrucci. 8/10

Constant Motion: Nice song, but not the best. 7/10

The Dark Eternal Night: The heaviest song by DT. Really crazy interlude!!! 9/10

Repentance: One of the highlights. A really beautiful ballad. 10/10

Prophets of War: WHY MUSE? WHYYYYY???? 5/10

The Ministry of Lost Souls: One of my favorite songs ever!! starts with a really beautiful ballad, and later a great interlude, there's no words to describe this song. 10/10

In The Presence of Enemies: The BEST song on this album. Starts really calmed, and later it comes heavier and heavier, and it ends really really epic. I dare to say that "The Reckoning" is the best instrumental section ever made by Dream Theater.

Systematic Chaos= 9.5/10

AngryWhy, for giving a 5 star rating to a DT album??Wink

I know, it's not the best-ever review, but I don't think it calls for deletion... And the rating is kinda wise...Tongue

Are you proposing deletion BJ, if so, on what grounds?

I would say that this is exactly the sort of anti-DT request that needs to be seriously skewered ... after BJ is directed to the T's magnificient thread on the problem with DT.

It seems the flak BJ's complaint is getting is more about politics than anything else, and is transparent and smells of bias. BJ is expressing an honest and quite right dissatisfaction with the review (it's extremely poor) but because DT must be defended at all costs, a bad review should stay. Funny.

No man, I'm not saying that. I'm saying the review should stay because, as poorly-written as it may be, it's not offensive, it's SOMEWHAT (highlight that word) informative, SOMEWHAT detailed.... I've never seen reviews being deleted just because they're poor...I've seen reviews deleted because they're poor AND offensive, or poor AND too short, poor AND containing false facts, or poor AND, well, VERY poor.... This is a bad review, but I've seen so much worse...I've seen hundreds of reviews like that of CLOSETOTHEEDGE, SELLINGENGLAND, KIng Crimson, etc... yet nobody cares or accuses the review of blind fanboyism....why a DT review has to receive this treatment?

Are we punishing DT because of their celebrity? (flashback to a current stupid situation here in the US Tongue

MORGAN — Nova Solis
Review by JackBH

— First review of this album —

4%20stars 4,5 stars - This debut of the obscure prog outfit Morgan is perhaps the best prog I've ever heard, and believe me,
I know more about prog than any of you out there. The music is very dominated by synths (in fact, no electric guitars can be heard on this album), especially the VCS-3, and Morgan Fisher sure knows how to use that thing. And what a precious little gem Roger Taylor and Brian May lost when Tim Staffell quit Smile. No wonder they picked Freddie to replace him - their voices are very similar. If you are looking for dreamy melodic prog rock in the vein of Yes, (early) King Crimson, Genesis, etc., this is NOT what you're after. This is much more complex and inaccessible than any of those bands.
If I wasn't such an expert on prog rock, I'd probably say that it reminds me of ELP. But it doesn't! Emerson never played this complex music. Fisher is far more talented, and it goes without saying that Tim Staffell is a better singer than Greg Lake since his voice is downright mediocre. Now you run along and buy this album and expose your little ears to experimental rock extraordinaire!!

What a lucky boy he is ... Dead

Well, Jack certainly has a high opinion of himself, and the review borders on being offensive, he's so full of himself.  However, that said, Morgan Fisher and Timothy Staffell recorded an album together?  I must obtain this.  I love Mott the Hoople and Smile, and think that probably is a kick*ss album.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

A good release (I don't know how much rare) it is the following one:
2004 by BMG RICORDI S.p.A. (82876646662) with mini LP package!!!

I love this album (that I bought used), not because is Recorded June/ July 1972 at RCA studios Rome (published by RCA Italiana), but because Morgan Fisher use at least 6 or 7 types of keyboards.  Besides it isn't a disc like to the ELP but rather to a mix of Genesis, VDGG and YES, even if has enough ELP.

This is a very obscure Symphonic Gem... Even if, to the end, it is a normal disc...!!!

5%20stars Excellent work of the Hupper, Wyatt and Ratledge company. This is exactly what I imagine when defining Canterbury style. Top form performance by all members and more accessible then their latter albums.

Get hold of it as soon as possible and examine the gems of Canterbury!

First off, it's Hopper not Hupper. And how is this more accessible than the other albums? Confused

And it doesn't say anything about the album besides "Excellent work".

And why did he leave out Elton Dean? Cry

Ben... it's a average review... and incomplete... the only crime he's committing are to the God's of prog for not typing correctly and completely the band members (If he wants to be credible, he'll ask to have it editted).... and to himself for blowing his foot off to ever be considered for a PR position hahhaha.

He makes a couple general points... and that's that. Not helpful to be sure... but worthy of singling out......? Doesn't hurt that he is right either hahhahha.

Yes it's worth singling out Stern%20Smile

He forgot Elton Dean. Stern%20Smile

He spelled Hopper wrong. Stern%20Smile

That should be grounds for expulsion in my book. Stern%20Smile

Especially for spelling Hopper wrong. Stern%20Smile

And you still haven't answered my question on how an album that contains four 20 minute songs (starts off with feedback as well) is more accessible than the later albums which are more jazz than jazz rock/fusion?

And it should be than the later albums instead of then. Ermm

5%20stars terrible........Listen, here's what I think.........BIKO??? It's all GIBBERISH!.......And "And THROUGH THE WIRE" is a terrible attempt to get a radio hit. It sounds like he's crying that he left that band.....Who I an not fond of either........HOWEVER!!! It does have KATE BUSH on it!! Just for that, 5 stars!!

Can we incorporate some sort of engine into the ProgArchives script so every review with too much block capitals that aren't band names, to many "!!!!" and "......" could be automatically deleted? Ermm

I assume "that band" which he is not that fond of either is Genesis, so why has he given 3 of their albums 5 stars? (Kate Bush is not on any of them).

And Biko gibberish? It's one of the finest lyrics ever written ("You can blow out a candle but you can't blow out a fire").

I find these joke reviews rather amusing, but inappropriate of course.
Just a music fan passing through trying to fill some void. Various music I am into now: a youtube playlist

I like how he misspells Trick of the Tail. The mark of a true diehard. It's one thing to say stuff like "I believe this album is underrated" I write things like that all the time. But he flat out tells us that we don't know how to review.
