I suspect what Finland meant was that porn is an inalienable right of the people.

Perverts.

Cuenca is certainly a beautiful city and those costs sound very real. I have thought of going back as I me tioned in other thread (not to Cuenca though) but if things down there get too difficult and I can't now, when I retire it's Certain that I'll end up there. (the only thing that could stop me from going soon is, as I've said, a extreme-left turn by the current goverment a la Venezuela...)

They bring up some interesting points, but it comes off as a bit of a rant. LOL Worth listening to though, it didn't feel like 20 minutes at all.

UK Politics and stuff.

BBC link HERE

New election suggestions outlined... perhaps we can take a small step from the utterly dismal First Past The Post system towards actual representation. But it would be easier if Labour weren't going back on their previous statements in a disgustingly soulless effort to undermine the credibility of the coalition (and the accusations of gerrymandering are pretty rich, especially given how it's going to be run by the same boundary commission that was at work when Labour were in power and also given the way that everyone is so fairly and evenly represented by the current constituency margins...).

Also, I fail to see the issue (from a Westminster perspective, at least... from a local perspective I can sort of understand it) with the date coinciding with the Welsh/Scottish assembly elections...? Yes, more turnout in some areas of the country, probably, than others, but then, I can guarantee that this situation is exactly what a party's election teams were trying to create in the general election.

This is a very rare opportunity to actually move things forwards. This is not a time for point-scoring. If the two major parties and snide columnists in the Telegraph shoot the AV suggestons down, we will continue to have a political system  of  unhealthy swings in policy between only two inherently favoured political parties based on the heavily curtailed preference of a minority of voters. This would, in my humble opinion, be very, very bad. AV may not be the fairest or best possible voting system, but it's a good step in the right direction.

Meanwhile in the USA:

Ex-hot dog eating champion Takeru Kobayashi held in US

Originally posted by BBC BBC wrote:

Former hot dog speed-eating champion Takeru Kobayashi has been arrested at this year's event in New York.

The six-time champion, who did not compete in this year's event, was arrested as he tried to get on the stage after the competition.

Mr Kobayashi had refused to sign a contract with the speed-eating body Major League Eating and was barred from the event at Coney Island.

Joey "Jaws" Chestnut won the contest for the fourth year running.

Mr Kobayashi, the thin Japanese contender who smashed all previous US records in 2001, jumped a barrier and tried to get up on the stage while the crowd chanted: "Let him eat!"

"Major League Eating"??

"Joey 'Jaws' Chestnut"??

+++shakes head slowly & sadly+++

Well Jim, as the country slips farther and farther into the malaise, we survive by gorging on the salted, processed meats.  Survival instincts kicking in.  WinkTongue

Oh, well that sounds like pretty much something I'd never want to eat, though put some spicy chili peppers on one and all bets are off. LOL
