Does anyone find it funny that the Roadrunner Australia site lists the release date of The Incident on September 11?

Please, please take the prints out of the cover........... they're awful.........  not as horrible as the one's on deadwing anyway ( those look like aggro-metal-band-linking-park or something)..

http://www.myspace.com/porcupinetree

about the audio preview on PT's my space...... I can say i'm getting tired of the metal riffing...it's getting a little bit generic for me.  I wish they would do something different on the instrumental parts that just riff out the whole thing...

I will definetly listen this CD just as it's released but I'm not expecting anything too spectacular.

Probably cause I preffer the older albums.

Anyway.......it's just older fans opinion and SW doesn't give a sh*t about it.

Well considering how their out of print "Recordings" is going for 5 bills, I'd say down the road they'd be worth a lot more than 5 bills...

Vinyl pre-order available, special edition a bit cheaper ..  $52.90 for the special edition, $30.85 for the Regular Edition, shipping outside UK is about $25 bucks though...

.. I'm not listening to any previews or videos, I'm waiting for the album, btw.

Took the plunge and ordered the special edition version on double vinyl, housed in separate picture sleeves and coming with a 48-page 12inch book, and all of that housed in a custom printed pvc slipcase. Fifty flippin' euros but what the hell....

Have to say I love Wilson's solo Insurgentes album and the packaging of the 4x10" vinyl is just lovely, but I've grown increasingly weary of the last Porcupine Tree album 'Fear of A Blank Planet', with it's metal posturing and tedious teen angst lyrics. It does not bear repeated listening and final critical judgement has ruled it a massive failure as far as I'm concered.

The success of the incorporation of metal elements with the kiddies has made Wilson a hostage to fortune with PT and seems that it's cash cow status now means he has to drive further and further up a 'death metal' alleyway which is strangling any creativity, originality, melody or indeed anything grown up about the band.

Bring back the eclecticism of Lightbulb Sun, the songwriting splendour of In Absentia, the atmospheric beauty of Deadwing.

I'm willing to give The Incident a shot, but it could well be my last PT album. Here's hoping Steven begins to plough a parallel more interesting solo sonic path alongside PT, perhaps returning to making music grown ups can appreciate.

Incident ordered: Judgement reserved...

Just got an e-mail from Amazon US and they are saying the release date is Sept 15, instead of the 21st.  Would be nice to get it a week earlier, for those of not preordering.
