Progspin - Prog News without taste, flavor, access, knowledge or any semblance of discretion.

BREAKING NEWS!! - We are continuning to break into our regularly scheduled programing, How to butcher literary classics.. The Prog Rock Edition Thumbs Up, to bring you a special announcement from the commissioner of FIPA. Micky Gotohell. We go to our Proggy Award winning correpondant, Stu Nahan who is at FIPA headquarters. Stu..Stu.. are you there?

Stu: Yes Mort I am here and with Commissioner Gotohell.  Commissioner... what the f**k is going on here?

Gotohell:  Good question Stu and we mean to get to the bottom of it.  We here at FIPA hold dear the ideals of fair play, honesty, and justice for all prog artists.  It has come to our attention alligations of voter fraud regarding a particular poll and its ... very odd results.

Stu: Which one?

Gotohell: Well we here at FIPA believe in transparency.. but due to the dire allegations and presumption of innocence we do not want to announce at this time which poll it is.  However I do want to assure the rank and file membership of FIPA that I am appointing an impartial and blue ribbon panel to investigate these charges.

Stu: who is on this panel Commioner Gotohell

Gotohell:  I am appointing myself, my lovely secretary Raff the Body and just to make sure there is no question as to integrety of our investigation...  Andy the Sleeper. All known and trusted in the prog community for our fair and impartial judgements.  We will expedite our investigation and grant PS the exclusive when we have got to bottom of this. Thank you Stu, Progspin and all loyal AND HONEST prog fans of good tastes.

Stu: I guess that is it Mort

PS:  WOW!!  I would never think 'prog fan' might stoop to cheating and chicanery to change results ..  hopefully this was just a bogus allegation. Now back to the last 4 minutes of...

Butchering Literary Classics.. the Prog Rock edition.

Is it a current PA policy that members only be allowed 12 poll votes before the server bans them from future voting? Cuz that has happened to me three times in the last two weeks! Just wondering . . .

I'm just surprised about my new attitude. I just delved into the whole new thing. A matter of psychology, I guess.

Micky's polls just did the trick. Although your polls and the "If you're stuck in the 1970's" thread and some other threads on PA made me already think that maybe I was missing out on a lot of good stuff.

Well, better late than never.

I think something is going on.. we are overloading the system.   Too many have had problems with their vote registering after that 12th or so vote (presumably all in one orgy of voting).  I'd suggest staggering the votes, as I have done. (many I have needed to think over or are voting strategically .. why vote for one favorite if others will do it for you.. vote the 2nd fav). I have had no problems at all with votes not counting Thumbs Up

that is what I love to hear Marcel.  You da man dude.  Yes, I am planning on listening to all of them I have not heard (well.... all but the neo albumd.. one thing I've never been accused of.. is being a saint). LOL  I can live happily never hearing another whimpy neo album...

Going into this.. my heart was with the classic polls.. my head was in the modern polls.  Especially with the long break from the site, and genre team work, I knew I had missed a lot of great albums.  I wanted to use the opportunity presented.. to explore some stuff I might not have otherwise done on my own volition. music is infinite.. free time is not...

I'm recommending it but being they are labeled as Neo, I doubt that you would like them, but you like The Tea Club, so what do I know.  They are the continuation of the Antique Seeking Nuns, who I am pretty sure you like/would like.

Sanguine Hum are a great band, I have 2 of their albums and can highly recommend them, not sure they are neo but if they are then I actually have 2 neo albums. I actually prefer the previous band, Antique Seeking Nuns, who are pretty Canterbury

It looks like they have a bunch of videos on youtube, so here is a link to that.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F33RJaW5bUs&list=PLXzDesEV9spLBPaUYt3oN-AaODoIrvvns

I've not heard their 2015 release, but Diving Bell and Weight of the World are both really good albums, in my opinion.  But then again, I love Neo, so what the hell do I know.
