David Sylvian ‎– Alchemy: An Index Of Possibilities (1985)

A very fine Sylvian, mainly instrumental/ambient with interesting contributions by Holger Czukay (Can), Steve Jansen (Japan), Percy Jones (Brand X) and Robert Fripp (King Crimson)

Expecially the 14 min opening tracks ”Words With The Shaman” and the last 19 min track ”Steel Cathedrals” highlight that deserve attention from anyone into good instrumentals, comparable to the work of Eno / Gabriel and even Bowie’s late 70’s instrumentals.

I am listening to the extended 2003 version – In this case the extra tracks works well, it was a very short album originally, with just 36 min.

Great cover by Dorset born female artist Amanda Faulkner

Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger and the Trinity – Streetnoise (1969)

A very underexposed gem of early prog., at PA a bit hidden under the Jazz/Fusion section and generally overseen by most of the music community.

My only advise is to check it out if you don’t know it, as seen from the few PA reviews not likely to disappoint. http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=17020

Trivia: Singer Julie Driscoll was married free jazz musician Keith Tippett known in prog. circles for his brilliant piano on King Crimsons Lizard.
