My wife, who grew up in Staten Island, insists that Chicago Style isn't really pizza, although she did visit Chicago and had one and liked it. LOL

SBARROS - mmm, yummy.........
.........nah, looked at some photos and realised that it was La Famiglia pizza places in NYC that I loved the most........
I did have a pizza in a place in 'Little Italy' and it wasn't that crash-hot.....

I definitely prefer the thicker crust. Much more filling. Though I do enjoy New York style pizza as well.

The crust is New Yorkish, but gyro meat, feta, and pepperoncini are excellent toppings...

with the real Greek Pizza the meat and feta are greek but the crust is borrowed from the Germans (at a horrendous interest rate).

As a native New Yorker and an Italian American, I wonder how surprising it is that as much as I enjoyed the pizza in Italy, I still think NY style is best.

One novelty I can't do is cornmeal crust--  I mean it's delicious but after two pieces I'm full for a week.

A vote for both. Both have their merits and are light years ahead of the St. Louis style pizza with it's cracker crust and provel cheese. Provel cheese equals a waste of good Cheddar,Swiss and American cheeses.

I once saw someone take a piece of KFC chicken (years ago when it was good) and wrap it up in a slice of NY style pizza and woof it down.

I wonder if he's still alive?
