From the RPI Conference we have one of the greatest of Italian bands

From Italy.

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso

Entering as an at large selection we have one of the most popular of the new wave of progressive rock bands

From England

Porcupine Tree

Vegas odds have PT as a 10 vote favorite as past history has shown that Steven Wilson could do a album of synthized dance music and people here would hail it as a progressive masterpiece. However while PT has flash, and youth, Banco has Francesco Di Giacomo and the Nocenzi brothers.  Possible upset?  We shall see

I'm going to have to think to think about this one for a bit.

This is going to be hellish confusing if all the polls in the same round and bracket have the same title.

Neither band are particular (stylistic) favorites of mine but had to give the edge to Banco based on Giacomo and the great talents both the Nocenzi brothers.

Banco - easily my least favorite of the classic progresso italian bands. PT by a country mile...

I wish I liked Banco more but have to be honest and go for the simpler pleasures of PT here.

Banco steal the show with their self titled alone. PT's good, but never quite that good, except maybe when playing "Moonloop" live.

Porcupine Tree easily and it wouldn't matter what period of the band either. Of course I love Banco but PT is a top three band for me that speaks to me in ways few bands do.

Banco!

Nice to see the italians doing so well against the two of the biggest selling bands of prog.
