So are GWAR and Sun Ra - maybe they should be in a poll together?

perhaps not so easy Ian. I just clicked on the thread and thought it was the current one and thought Hawkwind had made a MAJOR move. Then I saw your post and saw it was the old one and had to delete my comment

Dude, one of these bands dreams of space travel and the other is from another planet. I think the choice is obvious

I'm amazed really, not because I don't think Hawkwind don't deserve this, but because I didn't think there were enough people around PA who liked them enough. I also thought Magma were much more popular - I suspect that they are the 'Marmite' of the Prog world? To be honest, I was happy just giving Magma a run for thir money but to get them through to the next round is a bonus. Yay! Born to Go.

I did eventually vote several days ago for Magma but I felt bad for not voting Hawkwind, this really is a flip of the coin for me, and I agree with Micky that i'm happy for whoever wins.

And now tied! It looked like Hawkwind was going to pull away at the end. It will be a shame to have to close this one. One hour! Don't let it end in a tie. Someone has to break the tie, then tie again, then break it again haha.

I can relate as a lifelong Democrat who has only not voted straight ticket only once in his life. Gone down in the flames of defeat many more times than savoring victory. However we stick to our core values as well as our favs. Unpopularity be damned!
