Hi everyone,           
                      its been a year i m introduced to rock music.
And now i realised that before that i was doing nothing but killing time.
       so, here i m looking forward to explore prog..and need suggestions from senior members.

Oh! Well about the GY!BE album art avatar...im just vaguely familiar with that band..heard a track just once(can't remember the name). Iam...well u can cal me a real ProgNewbie.
Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, Opeth, Some Yes & Genesis and offcourse KC.

Good taste. It's cool that you like modern and classic prog at the same time. Before I listened to classic prog only, and I discovered Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Sigur Ros, Spock's Beard after. The two eras are great.

One band that might merit an inspection is The Psychedelic Ensemble.

As for suggestions...just surf through the progarchives top albums..read reviews and pick those that suit ur tastes...
Or else..go to ur roommate (addictedtoprog)...Yeah!
BTW... CONGRATULATIONS!!...embrace the religion..i.e. Prog.

I'm not a senior member of this forum but I would like to recommend some great music nevertheless :)

One of my Favourite albums is Leader of the Starry Skies, A Tribute To Tim Smith, Songbook 1, which is a compilation album with covers/interpretations of songs by Tim Smith, singer/songwriter/guitarist of Cardiacs and The Sea Nymphs.

The album was released to raise funds for his ongoing recovery after he had a heart attack and stroke.

Here are two of the songs of this album:
