For me, easily the best Echo album. Strongest songwriting that still has their early albums' edge and punkness but still starts to dive into the dreary new-wave of Ocean Rain.

I thought of you, Austin, when he posted that.  I remember you saying how good it is.  I've never really delved into Echo much (I used to own Crocodiles in the pre-CD era) but I like what I know.  I'll try that one next time I come across it.

Me, I'm still listening to some Noise.  Believe it or not, this is good music to work at my desk to, so long as I keep the volume down for fear of scaring my co-workers.

I love them ALL.  My #1 tops modern group actually.. not a less than great album in the whole bunch.Clap  If I had to pick one favorite though, it would have to be the mighty Tio Bitar..

For me, a tossup between Tio Bitar and 4.  But yeah, they're all great.  If anything, the most celebrated one (Ta Det Lugnt) is my least favorite.

oohh.. I really love that one ...  my least favorite would be Skit I Allt.  Though that has grown on me substantially since it was released.  From a album I was disappointed in, to one now merely my least favorite of a stable of great albums LOL

Yeah: 'Girlfriends', 'neighbours' or 'co-workers' and 'my music' is rarely a good match. The Graaf is at insanely loud volume but on the headphones right now.

Yeah, "least favorite" in this case still trumps most bands' best albums.

(oooh shaky sentence.... grammar check..... and it's good!)

One time at work (if you've heard this story before, stop me) I had my headphones on listening to "Universal Totem Orchestra" (a Zeuhl group) and asked that nobody bother me so I could really concentrate on a difficult project I was working on.  No one bothered me but I could tell they were milling around me, wondering whether to interrupt me or not.  I took off my headphones AND THE MUSIC WAS BLASTING THROUGH THE COMPUTER SPEAKERS TOO.  Embarrassed  oops

Reminds me of the time I accidentally plugged my headphones into the microphone port in an art class.

But a classmate picked up on it before it had gotten too far into "Mary Jane's Last Dance", so crisis averted. EmbarrassedCool

Now i'm not a huge fan of The Cure. I have this and Head on the Door and while i enjoy listening to this. Nice and long, real easy listening with top notch atmospheres - but it just hasn't clicked with me on an emotional level. The extra push that really brings an album form 4* to 5*.  That's why i'll keep to my Smiths, every album just nails me and while Robert Smith really doe shave a way with words on this record, something is keeping me from really loving this.

The lyrical sentiments on Disintegration don't really move me much at all - but the song arrangements are what really make ti a classic album. The way each song slowly builds layers as it goes, usually going for a minute or two before the singing starts, really building the songs out of ordinariness into something more complex and colorful.  Like going underwater and seeing more wondrous things the deeper you go.  Favorite songs: Lullaby and Fascination Street.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.
