Two groundbreaking jazz fusion records, both released in 1970. They're pretty closely rated on PA, but composed/improvised by two very different sets of musicians with different goals. Personally, I much prefer Third because it seems to have a less randomly eclectic sound than Bitches Brew, but I think it's still kind of unbridled, and manages to combine off-the-wall experimentation with some great Wyatt melodies.

Thanks for any feedbackSmile

Third all the way. I still haven't given up on BB, but I'm taking a lo-o-o-o-o-o-ong break.

Third.  BB is just a bit too boring.  And Third is wonderful.

Both are kinda ugly, tbh. I much prefer fusion on the lines of Hot Rats or Inner Mounting Flame...even In a Silent Way. I guess BB, though "Moon in June" is pretty great.

I recognize that BB is a great and important album in the history of Jazz/rock/fusion, but I personally haven't been able to get into it much--prefer Third.

How is this even close?

Miles' effort could eat his competitor a Third helping.

Me too. Never got over the feeling that BB is just aimless noodling around, no matter how hard I try.
