Ancestral, but this whole album was brilliance and had nice metal influences, which I thought were lacking in The Raven

There is no dark side in the moon, really... Matter of fact, it's all dark...

Ancestral for me too, love that Wilson's bringing back the metal. I hear a bit of Mastodon influence in there.

I still think The Raven was his best effort (even better than porcupine tree), but this is one amazing album, the second best of his solo stuff, imo.
3 Years Older is my favourite at the moment. But there's great tracks, Routine, Ancestral, Home Invasion, even the pop-ish Hand Cannot Erase is a great track, just like Trains was on In Absentia. I think it's a 5 star album, need more listenings to be sure.

Ugh, a grooveshark link. Can we at least wait until the album is officially released?

People,
I will try to explain the how the first 3 tracks made me feel on first hearing: track 1. i smiled at the warped tape sounding of this. track 2. i laughed at how much this sounded like rush's Hemispheres track 3. i cried because i KNOW this is too good for a grammy.

Have you heard the tripe that passes for a grammy award? This is too good.
Grammys aren't given out for good MUSIC... They are awarded for PERFORMANCES. I know POP music fanatics that would agree with this statement, but they find this way of thinking acceptable. I think there should be another REAL MUSICIANSHIP award. This album would definitely get multiple awards. ... haha... and you certainly wont find any of it on a juke box..

So I guess The Mars Volta suck because they got a Grammy? Seeing whoever gets a Grammy doesn't make real music.

The album has been released, so I reopened the poll but I removed the stream link in the main post because that is still an illegal leak.

I guess this album will be hailed by an army of devotees. Nevertheless I can foretell with a high level of probability that this album will not make it to my top 10 at the end of the year. But still it's good and quite enjoyable with a number of good songs: #1 and #5-#8 being the best imho. I voted for First Regret.

Correct.....prog anything is non-existent in the PNW. Screamo-thrash metal and pop-metal is big tho

It's a Steven Wilson album so it automatically gets five stars no matter how good or bad it sounds, and is guaranteed to bring bliss to all prog fans. Just like The Endless River. End of review.
