Jimmy Page on many Roy Harper albums
David Gilmour on some Roy Harper albums (duet with Chris Spedding in "The Game). David Gilmour also on many shows with Unicorn, and Sutherland Brothers and Quiver
Paul McCartney in at least one Roy Harper album (One of these days in England)
George Harrison in many Monty Python skits. (and songs more than likely!)
Jimi Hendrix has a massive version of DayTripper with the Beatles ... it was on a bootleg many times!
Pete Townsend in both Roger Ruskin Spear albums as producer, player and bum!

Jon Anderson on the Legend soundtrack, but that was pretty proggy so it doesn't count. |
I excluded mentioning it because it wasn't unlikely.

^ Maybe already mentioned, but John Goodsall played guitars on Atomic Rooster's Nice and Greasy album under the pseudonym of Johnny Mandala. I never picked it, and still find it hard to tell.

I recall reading in Tony Levin's biography that he played with the Carpenters back in the 70s. |
Did he play studio or live?
Speaking of Levin, he played bass on John and Yoko's Double Fantasy album.

Did we really get this far into the thread without mentioning Geddy Lee's classic vocal on the Bob & Doug McKenzie record? That was formative stuff for some of us.

Alex Lifeson played guitar solos on "Crying Over You" and "Holy Water" from [Canadian new wave band] Platinum Blonde's sophomore album, released in 1985. The title of that album, interestingly, is Alien Shores. "Alien Shore" is the title of a song on the 1993 album by Rush, Counterparts. Alien Shores was produced by a name well-known to Yes fans: Eddy Offord.

let's not forget the title track to Supertramp's Brother Where You Bound |
Gilmour not only played guitar on White City Fighting, he also wrote the music for that song.

Steven Wilson also produced most songs on marillion.com. Before that, he also played guitar and produced two Fish albums.

I was always partial to Chris Squire, Tony Kaye, Alan White, Albert Lee and Stevie Winwood playing together on that album by jazz saxophonist Eddie Harris.

Rick Wakeman contributed keyboard work to Black Sabbath's 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' album.
Rick also played the memorable piano on Cat Stevens' hit, "Morning has Broken."
