Larks' Tongues.... aside from Red is KC's best album. BSS is probably ELP's best album. However, KC are infinitely superior to ELP, so the better album is Larks.....

I like Crimson a lot but God their fans are irritatingly snobby. Brain Salad Surgery!

I am not a great fan of either band, but BSS is much better than the mess which is LTIA.
BSS 3* LTIA 1/2*

Being a HUGE ELP fan then ipso facto it's BSS.
But all things being equal I'd take Starless and Bible Black over Larks Tongue in Aspic anyday. |

ELP. The music is so strong on BSS!
LTIA is good too, but I like BSS better.

ELP's masterpiece compared to KC's average. Not really a contest with about 1.5 star difference.

I don't listen to Crimson enough but when I do its usually Power To Believe or Red. Brain Salad Surgery is my favourite album although you have to be a fan to say that. Its ELP being ELP to the nth degree. No else could be ELP , only ELP. After 1974 even ELP struggled to be ELP anymore. Its mad keyboard and drum races , distorted vocals and tacky synths ..private customised truckloads of tacky synths more than you can shake an exploding pyrotechnic stick at. Its also madly pretentious of course. I love it!!

My favorite album from each band here, but Crimson definitely takes the cake on this one.

A fan of both, but LTIA on this one. Kickass sound throughout the album. All tracks are great. Even "Book Of Saturday" is really good.

Crimso's worst with ELP's best. Easy decision.
