next up...
From Italy.. the incomparable Banco!! reviewed by the equally incomparible Jim!
From Progarchives.com, the ultimate progressive rock music website
and in the opposite corner... yet another fusion album. Great review btw. Almost enough to get me to revisit it. I might just do that in fact.

Both great albums, but I went with Brand X high water mark.

That was a frickin great Brand X review.. and since I only gave the album the slightest chance to catch with me before letting my general distain for fusion get the better of me... I'll give it a refresher listen. Normally it wouldn't make a difference. However this Banco album is actually my least favorite of all their classic albums. Plus Banco was always my least favorite of the big 6 of Italian prog. It would have to really be better than I remember to take the vote.. but it is open which says enough considering my love for RPI in general and generally antipathy to fusion.

Thanks to the polls I tried out Brand X again, some weeks ago, and I actually liked it. Good stuff!
But to be honest... Banco's Darwin is really something special. |

I am going to try it again myself. It has been a number of years since I've listened to them. It really isn't my kind of thing. |

Banco's first three albums blow me away from the first listen. So, Darwin, +1. |

Two good bands but I'm leaning toward jazz/rock/fusion.
