i voted for "Spirit of Eden" ClapClapClapClapClap but how 'classics' that were released 27 years ago could be 'moderns' and therefore in the battle of modern albums?
isnt that a nonsense to call "moderns" the albums from 80s, even if we know that these polls are just for fun and nothing but fun?

edit: and wouldnt be a too big nonsense even for these for-fun-only polls if in the modern albums grand finale you get eg some album from 80s and another thats released in 00s?

Well I own Mindcrime even though it doesn't really do much for me. I listened to Talk Talk for the first time today and quite enjoyed it. I heard elements of Velvet Underground, Stones & REM. Doubt I'll buy it but it gets the vote.

Two good albums, went with Mindcrime since it's apparent underdog.

Once of the biggest things I learned since joining PA was that Talk Talk was more than just another new wave synthpop thing.

Queensryche were one of the last of the non-extreme metal acts I was into before I nose-dived into death metal. Shame that they've been going out of their way in trying to ruin their legacy (which really wasn't all that long actually) for quite a while now.

Mindcrime is a great album but I have to say it has dated fairly badly.  Spirit of Eden on the other hand.......

That is an undeserved fate. Seeing the class of Talk Talk, I give Geoff Tate c.s. some voting support.

I think Talk Talk is one of the few that has a semi realistic shot at breaking the SWilson v. PT modern final.  SC3 might have a shot.  PT has to go through both. SWilson has clear sailing up there in the top of the bracket. Perhaps Kid A gives it a battle.

^ They were number one and number two in their respective groups in the first round. Which group they ended up in in the first round was completely random.

Anyway, I'll go for the progressive hair metal concept album over the proto post rock album today.
