Telestrat, you might like this Anxtron album.  http://anxtron.bandcamp.com/album/anxtron  It is guitar led instrumental music.  A little in the progressive metal vein; although I think that they might have been rejected for inclusion back in the day.

What do you think of this one, Nasir, and the rest of their output (if you're familiar with it)?

Haven't heard anything else from this band, but, although it's not exactly my prefered style of prog, I thought this album was pretty good. The first half or so was pretty interesting at least, the second half a bit less so, IMO. I've only given it a couple of spins so far though, that's got to be said.
I Didn't like this one at first (especially the vocals) but after a couple of listens it really grew on me. It has to be one of my favorite metal albums of the year so far. This is my first exposure to Arcturus' music and I haven't listened to another album of theirs yet. I will as soon as I fully absorb this one. And there is a lot of avant-garde metallic goodness to absorb on this album.

Before:

Kansas Masque album cover

Kansas Leftoverture album cover
I enjoyed their first two albums (both new to me before I heard them earlier today), but I think this will remain my favourite of theirs. With excellent tracks like "Carry on Wayward Son", "What's on My Mind", "Miracles Out of Nowhere" and "Magnum Opus" it was always going to be hard for any of their other albums to beat this one to me.

Kansas Point Of Know Return album cover
This one, on the other hand, I just can't get into. Why so many rate it so highly is beyond me. Bar "Dust in the Wind" there's nothing exciting here, IMO.

Now:

Kansas Two for the Show album cover

Yeah, the vocals rubbed me the wrong way, too, especially the first time I heard it. The second time I didn't mind them that much, so perhaps I'll learn to love them in the end. LOL I'll stick with it. You never know, it might grow on me even more. Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts on it. Thumbs Up
