Telestrat, you might like this Anxtron album. http://anxtron.bandcamp.com/album/anxtron It is guitar led instrumental music. A little in the progressive metal vein; although I think that they might have been rejected for inclusion back in the day.

I Didn't like this one at first (especially the vocals) but after a couple of listens it really grew on me. It has to be one of my favorite metal albums of the year so far. This is my first exposure to Arcturus' music and I haven't listened to another album of theirs yet. I will as soon as I fully absorb this one. And there is a lot of avant-garde metallic goodness to absorb on this album.

Before:
I enjoyed their first two albums (both new to me before I heard them earlier today), but I think this will remain my favourite of theirs. With excellent tracks like "Carry on Wayward Son", "What's on My Mind", "Miracles Out of Nowhere" and "Magnum Opus" it was always going to be hard for any of their other albums to beat this one to me. This one, on the other hand, I just can't get into. Why so many rate it so highly is beyond me. Bar "Dust in the Wind" there's nothing exciting here, IMO. Now: |
