^ See? I'm suspicious about it for a reason ...also because I had to listen to a lot of 80's cr*p in my childhood
It sounds nothing like the 80's. "One of a kind" is the phrase. The closest for a post-rock album it comes to is ... hmph ... jazz ... pop ... ? ... No. ... Jazz/classical/pop/ambient.

To be fair, his post WAS album-related. I just made it more accurate to my opinion when I responded.
oh who am kidding... I really like this album.. and wouldn't vote for it even if SWilson offered to piss on me if I was on fire. I do need to start a poll.. worst alltime great PA fans. DT's or PT's.

Can't vote yet as I do not know much of Talk Talk, will have to listen and vote later.
enjoy...I listened to that yesterday and damn if the shear majesty and beauty of it didn't bring tears to my eyes. Incredible album
Just listened to Spirit of Eden and loved this style but this is sort of an apples to oranges vote. Depends if I am in a heavier/darker mode then I am in the PT camp, if in a jazzier/solitude mode then Talk Talk. Oh what the hell, going out of my comfort zone into the Talking world...tough choice nevertheless.
good way to look at it. I actually really like this PT album.. got me into the group before all the 'fans' ruined the PT experience (not helped by the sh*tty albums that followed it). The way I see it .. if I really want heavier and dark.. there are SO many better albums.. but for the solicitude and instrospective musical moments there simply aren't that many better albums than Spirit of Eden. Thus the easy vote.
